Season Ticket Renewal (Price Increase) 2022/23

Recommended Posts

Leicester City Season Tickets will be available for renewal for the 2022/23 campaign from Tuesday 17 May.
More on this story...

Existing Season Ticket Holders will have until Monday 6 June to secure their seats for the new season, with Direct Debit options allowing supporters to spread the cost over up to 11 months.

The process of automatic renewal for Season Ticket Holders already on the Club’s Direct Debit scheme will begin on Tuesday 17 May, though participants will have until Wednesday 15 June to opt out before any payments are made. First payments will be taken on Friday 1 July.

Following the conclusion of the renewals process on Monday 6 June, any remaining Season Tickets will be made available to 2021/22 Fox Members. This will take place before the launch of 2022/23 Fox Memberships, a date for which will be confirmed in due course.

The launch of 2022/23 Season Tickets follows a productive period of consultation with Season Ticket Holders and Fox Members, where feedback was sought on potential pricing structures and future enhancements to operations that would increase the value of being a Leicester City Season Ticket Holder. Such discussions were supplemented by an extensive benchmarking process undertaken by the Club, to measure its Season Ticket offering against other clubs in the Premier League.

Renewing Your Season Ticket

A guide to renewing your Leicester City Season Ticket and the Football Club's new Mobile Tickets.

Having applied an eight-year freeze on Season Ticket prices since the Club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2014, 2022/23 will see an average increase of five per cent on general admission renewal prices from the 2021/22 season.

For an Adult Season Ticket Holder in the Kop, this takes the cost of your Season Ticket to £22.89 per game – an increase of £1.05 on 2021/22.

Seasonal Hospitality areas, First Floor in the West Stand and Fosse Club Premium will be subject to an average increase of 10 per cent for renewals to reflect the higher rising costs in the hospitality sector.

Any new Season Ticket purchases will be subject to an average increase of 10 per cent on 2021/22 prices. Match-by-match ticket prices will also be increased by an average of 10 per cent.

Enhancements made by the Club for the 2022/23 season include:

Direct Debit Extension

For the 2022/23 season, supporters renewing will be able to spread the cost of their Season Ticket across up to 11 monthly payments, compared with the 10-month option of the previous season.

The process of automatic renewal for Season Ticket Holders already on the Club’s Direct Debit scheme will begin on Tuesday 17 May, though participants will have until Wednesday 15 June to opt out before any payments are made. First payments will be taken on Friday 1 July.

Ticket Resale service

Enabling Season Ticket Holders to resell their Season Ticket for up to three Premier League matches during the season and be refunded 1/19th of the cost of their Season Ticket each time. The service is aimed to increase flexibility and affordability for supporters and increase the value of Fox Memberships, in addition to increasing the pool of match tickets available for members and Season Ticket Holders to purchase.

More information on the Ticket Resale service can be found HERE.

Mobile Tickets

Consultations were used to gauge supporter feedback on a proposed mobile ticketing system, with the long-term objective of removing physical tickets and Season Ticket Cards to improve security, speed up stadium entry, tackle ticket touting and reduce our matchday carbon footprint. Further to the feedback provided, Season Ticket Holders will have the choice at the point of purchase of whether to use the mobile ticketing system or to receive a physical Season Ticket Card for the 2022/23 season.

Supporters due to auto renew via Direct Debit will need to log on to their online ticketing account to express their preference by Thursday 16 June. If a preference is not selected, mobile ticketing will become the default option.

Further information on mobile ticketing can be found HERE.

SK1 Singing Section

Further to consultation relating to the success of the Club’s recent trial, the popular Singing Section in SK1 will be implemented for the entire 2022/23 season. This will be a season-long trial to gauge the effectiveness of such a measure on the matchday atmosphere over a sustained period, informing the Club’s ongoing decision making, relative to the matchday experience.

In order to facilitate the change in environment, a reconfiguration of a section of SK1 is necessary, which will affect the following seats:

Rows M to PP; seats 1 to 29 and seats 208-218

Seats in this section will not be available to renew immediately. Further information on the Singing Section and the renewal process for Season Ticket Holders in this area can be found HERE.

Leicester City Chief Executive, Susan Whelan, said: “The consultation period has been extremely valuable to this process, and I’d like to thank every supporter that came forward to be part of our discussions – from members of our Fans Consultative Committee, to established supporter bodies, to Season Ticket Holders and Members that formed part of our working groups. It’s provided further important insight into what matters to our fans and how the Club can best cater for that, while managing the financial realities of competing at this level.

“It’s been eight years since we increased Season Ticket prices following promotion to the Premier League and the decision to implement an increase now has not been taken lightly. However, in order to continue to meet rising costs and to regularly compete with our Premier League rivals, it’s important we seek to optimise revenues – both for the responsible running of the Club and to ensure ongoing compliance with the game’s evolving financial regulations.

“We do, however, appreciate that supporters too are affected by the current rising cost of living, which was a key consideration in the scale of increase we were prepared to apply. Investments in our Ticket Resale platform and the increase in the length of our Direct Debit offering are designed to assist with affordability and we will continue to seek ways to maximise the value of being a Leicester City Season Ticket Holder.”

Supporters renewing are reminded that, for the best experience, they should do so online at tickets.lcfc.com as there will be no over-the-counter-sales in the Foxes Fanstore for Season Tickets.

The City Sales Centre is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and from 11am until 12:30pm (phone lines) for the home game against Southampton on Sunday 22 May. Call: 0344 815 5000 (Option 1) or email: [email protected]. Please note that this email address is for enquiries only - supporters will not be able to renew their season tickets by email.

*Automatic renewals via the Direct Debit system will not take place for Season Ticket Holders in the Family Area, whose eligibility for that section is reviewed every season to maintain its integrity. Auto renewals will also not be processed for supporters whose current Season Tickets are in the SK1 Singing Section.

Supporters with an outstanding balance at the end of the 2021/22 season will be unable to renew their Season Tickets unless their balance is cleared before the renewal deadline.

Physical ticket for sure, couldn't stand having a season ticket on my mobile, especially when I'm paying an extra 5% for it next season.

I guess not bad really after prices being frozen for several years

The biggest increase for me is the kids jumping up bands rather than the percentage increase.

So we don't need to do anything to renew - it is automatic (unless you want to opt out?)

Mine works out around £25 a game now. My mate pays £23 to watch Birmingham play shite football in front of 15,000 every other week. Perspective helps a lot I guess.

Fox member here paying £36 most weeks, so again highlighting the value of season tickets.

Why don’t they include all the woman’s games at the KP as a free add on?

Might get more people along

The prices are dirt cheap and kids season tickets were free this year. The first match of the season was fairly well attended, but it’s the poor results keeping the people away, not the prices.

So out of curiosity if I renew this year and go down the mobile ticket route how does this work exactly, like a bank card on Apple Pay?

Yeah I assume you just add it to your ‘wallet’ like a bank card

Has anyone got experience of moving seat in the reallocation period? Is it easy enough? I’m looking at moving mine and my dads ticket (not to the singing section).

It's easy, took less than 3 minutes but I was only moving a single ticket and knew exactly which seat I wanted.

Might just be a QR code.

Otherwise, uefa have a ticket app, your tickets are loaded onto it. Then when you get within range of the stadium, turn Bluetooth on and the tickets are activated. Slightly unnerving as you never see your tickets until youre at the ground, signal may be interrupted with 10000s of people around or if phone battery dies

There are around 6,000 free seats to relocate to, probably more if you include those not renewing. So you will have a good choice throughout the ground and will have an exclusive period to move seats.

Did you do it over the phone or was it available via website?

Yep, Info says you need NFC working on your phone and Google/Apple pay activated, so I guess once set up it will be tap your phone to get in.

Any Fox Members looking to upgrade to ST, myself and a friend are around the 50 point mark home and away and are hoping to have the chance to upgrade. Anyone know historical points totals allowing members to upgrade?

It will go off your home points only

I think last year it was somewhere mid 30s to be eligible

I think they only go by home points if that's with both included.

Think last year it was mid to low 30s

As above it's off home points. Very hard to say. Let's say 35 points missed out last year. You would get another 10 points on top for renewing (correct me if I am wrong). Then 1 point per match. If about 1,000 season tickets become available, there is a good chance that people in the mid 20s might be OK. It's really hard to predict as there are so many factors involved.
