Tash Flint is one of a tonne we’ve offered to other clubs on loan

That doesn't overly surprise me. It seemed to me that Kirk was exploring options upfront, obviously not 100% happy with what we had.

...if she had anything about her she would have been perhaps our biggest asset!!!

She has a football brain, has the ground skills, just never sought to apply herself in games. When she played between the midfield and behind the person ahead of her, she looked an asset and could hold the ball for support to get up to her. She should not have to be told to do these things, she is more than experienced to work this out herself.

Apparently close to getting a new keeper as well which is very much needed

90min understands Leicester are set to complete the signing of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Janina Leitzig.

The 23-year-old made 21 appearances for Bayern last term in place of the injured Laura Benkarth, but has since found herself behind youngster Maria-Luisa Grohs in the pecking order this season.

Leitzig did not travel with Bayern to their training camp in Doha this month, and has a contract with the German outfit until 2024.

Surely that's our wages bill v's FFP

I believe FFP doesn't apply to Women's Football, so perhaps that's why we're able to spend more freely there.

I know the transfer fees are way smaller, and I've no wish to derail this thread, but I wonder if that's what's impeding our spending on the men's team.

Women’s football doesn't count for FFP.

Willie Kirk has confirmed that LCFC Women defender Abbie McManus will be out for at least three months with a fractured leg.
More on this story...
How To Follow City's Clash With Brighton
- Abbie McManus is set for at least three months out with a fractured leg
- LCFC Women manager Willie Kirk was speaking to the media on Friday afternoon
- The Foxes face Brighton at home in the WSL on Sunday (3pm kick-off)
- McManus was injured during Wednesday's 5-0 cup win at Sunderland

The Foxes welcome Brighton & Hove to King Power Stadium in the Barclays Women's Super League on Sunday (3pm kick-off) hoping to secure their first top-flight win of the season.

Buoyed by Wednesday's 5-0 rout of Sunderland in the Continental Tyres League Cup, Kirk was speaking to the media from the Club's Belvoir Drive hub on Friday. There was bad news to report on McManus, however, who is due for a spell out.

"Abbie is obviously out," the manager confirmed on Friday. "She’s had a bad injury on Wednesday night and it’ll be a while before we see her back. That’s disappointing. She’s an important player for us. She’s got experience.

It’s a leg break that’ll keep her out for a minimum of three months.

Willie Kirk
"She can play in different positions. I had her playing in a six rather than at centre-back because I thought she had a lot of composure. Abbie will definitely miss out. That’s probably the only new one.

"It’s disappointing for Abbie and for us but football sometimes throws these things at you. She’s got an appointment today but she’s fractured her leg. It’s a leg break that’ll keep her out for a minimum of three months and maybe for the rest of the season."

I'm quietly relived tbh. I was fearful it could have been worse; a head or back injury. It was an aerial collision, she went down hard after the clash and was clearly in some pain. I guess she landed awkwardly. The scream and crying was enough to have Missy Goodwin put her fingers in her ears!

no Siemsen in the squad at all is odd, unless Flint has actually left she should probably be on the bench too and just noticed 2 keepers there

they look much better organised at the back, Bott getting in down the right all half

She has really impressed me so far, probably our best player that half

Keeper looks solid too. Just what the team needed.

Her just being 6 foot helps massively

There was a shot by a Brighton player that looped up and she had to jump up to grab it, and I was half expecting to see drop in due to our previous keepers

Yes, was thinking Levell would have struggled with that one.

needs to pick out a better ball at the end of her runs but yes Bott has been really good

Cain has lead the line really well too, linking up with Goodwin well, Would like to see Jones get a little more involved on the other wing
