I've never seen the ladies team play like that before and its probably the first time i was excited about their play. The difference a couple of recruits can make. Hopefully the men's team can follow suit.

Not that many considering we'd only scored 1 goal before today.

They would have gotten a point at Everton and likely 3 at Reading where goalkeeping calamities cost them at the depth

They would have drawn at Everton and beat Reading, so at least 4 more.

Leitzig did. She made some good saves. Looked secure and confident. Gave confidence to those in front of her.

Huh… who’d of thought it…. Something.. something… Ward.

Would have us on 7 point which is the same as Brighton, Reading, 1 behind Liverpool and 2 behind Spurs.

Could be the difference at the end of the season.

with those points today's result would probably have seen them get off the bottom or at least be tied with Brighton on points, its a massive amount in a 12 team league

https://fawslfulltime.co.uk/2023/01/18/leicester-city-midfielder-scofield-joins-coventry-united-on-loan/

Leicester City midfielder Connie Scofield has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Coventry United on a loan deal until the end of the season.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Leicester City this evening.

Scofield joined Leicester City from their Midlands rivals Birmingham City in 2021 but the youngster has struggled for game time with The Foxes as a result of niggling injuries and competition in the squad. The midfielder has played just 167 minutes of football for Leicester City this season with six of those minutes coming in Barclays Women’s Super League matches.

With Scofield unlikely to be handed a significant role for Leicester City in the second half of the season, the decision has been made to loan the player to Coventry United. The 23-year-old joins a Coventry United side who are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the Barclays Women’s Championship table. Scofield could play a leading role for Lee Burch’s side in the coming weeks.

Scofield has become the third player to leave Leicester City in the current transfer window. Northern Ireland international defender Demi Vance has left the club by mutual consent while Scofield joins teammate Ellen Jones at Coventry United with the midfielder having also been loaned to The Red and Greens.

Highlights didnt show much of new keeper, but I liked her saves, feels like a proper keeper now, shame its just a loan though.

...she seemed more than competent!!!

Looked professional and did two very impressive piece of Goal keeping that for me, means we need to look to pick her up.

Hard to believe we have this person in our goal (compare to the previous incubants) and not believe we should be getting her to sign a long term deal.I  am worried if we are so blind as to not be aware of proper talent.

Anyone know if the game tonight is on TV_stream?

Nah coverage for both cup’s is generally nonexistent/one game a round at best until the quarters

Cheers... well that sucks! It would be perfect if they could at least show these games like lcfc does to the academy games at the training grounds, even though that's not always practical.

Leicester City Women actually got an article in the Athletic today  :jawdrop:  The premise being that a relegation battle will move some of the focus to the clubs involved and widen interest in the WSL.  (Funny, I thought there was a relegation battle just last season?!)  An excerpt:

When you look at the TV schedule, the teams battling it out at the top are almost ever-present — the sides at the bottom do not get much of a look-in. Those games are usually confined to the single camera streams on the FA Player.

The more dramatic and difficult the relegation battle, the better all-round entertainment product the WSL becomes.

It will also force further expansion of the league. There is an expectation extra relegation and promotion spots will soon be added and greater strength in depth across the division would help. If there is more than one relegation spot at stake then teams will be sure to keep one eye over their shoulder.
