gone to penalties

Good job we've got the new goalie might even stand a chance.

What are the finances like in Women's Football, and particularly LCFC Women's side?

Noticed we've been quite busy in the transfer market - are wages very low? Transfer fees miniscule? Where does WSL rank in terms of finances compared to women's football in Spain/France/Germany, and are teams there funded from men's teams?

WSL generally the bigger spenders thanks to Chelsea, Man City & Arsenal in the main (and the Barclays/Sky Sports £ coming in now), in Europe its Barca followed by PSG, Bayern, Lyon, Real Madrid, no data but I imagine Sweden are the biggest exporters.

Biggest fee is around £500k from Barca for Keira Walsh from Man City, Arsenal have just offered more than that for United’s Alessia Russo who only has 6 months left on her deal.

There’ll be a million pound player within 18 months.

Clubs are mainly backed by men’s teams or the occasional rich investor (London City in the Championship for example)

As for us, we’ve just paid an “Australian league record” for Remy Siemsen that’s around mid-high 5 figures/maybe touching 6 and our option to buy Courtney Nevin after her loan is probably pretty similar.

Telegraph did a piece on WSL wages the other year, low £20k per year and a high of around £250k, both have probably gone up since then but that’s an idea.

...man. City just loves to keep on probing, full possession and wearing teams down!!!

Just like the men's team, they are not that good defensively,  although they do not get a lot of practise in this respect. Playing them on the counter in broken play is the best way to beat them.

I like that Kirk uses the squad. We're looking so much better, joined-up, than earlier in the season. I can see us getting results against other sides.
