I'm genuinely not sure what I'd do if I were manager; games lost well and truly but do you keep playing your game (knowing you'll probably concede again) and look for the boost of getting on the scoresheet, or attempt to shut up shop?

This is so one sided, as we kinda expected.

What sort of crowds are they getting currently?

A1, A2, B1, B2 usually reasonably full.

Around me in the B1 STH section it looks like 70% haven't shown up. I've just left at half time, it's way too cold for this

It seems to show the manager is not the problem.

This league is just a mirror image of the PL I really can’t see there being much change even at their best they’ll never be more than a middling team.

The gulf in class of the top teams in the WSL is unbelievable. I watched Man Utd ladies rip Aston Villa to bits. I think on this form today, they would give half the teams in the championship a game. Probably  a bit exaggerated I know but they were fantastic.

Would love to see figures on expenditure on players/wages between WPL teams. Unless the likes of us, Villa, Everton massively invested (which we probably can’t afford), then there’s literally zero chance against teams who can recruit/pay anyone in the world.

CHELSEA MARCH ON AT THE LEAGUE SUMMIT WITH EIGHT-GOAL MAULING OF SORRY LEICESTER CITY
By Daniel Pentland / December 3, 2022
Chelsea have returned to the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table after hammering bottom club Leicester City 8-0 at The King Power Stadium this afternoon.
The Blues temporarily dropped off the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table as a result of Manchester United’s 5-0 victory over Aston Villa at lunchtime but Emma Hayes’ side quickly returned to the summit after battering sorry Leicester City.

Chelsea broke the deadlock in just the fourth minute when Guro Reiten found the bottom corner of the Leicester City net from 16 yards before Jessie Fleming made it 2-0 with a finish from close range.

Fran Kirby added a third Chelsea goal with a shot from inside the box before Niamh Charles’ glancing header from a corner increased The Blues’ advantage to four.

Chelsea went into the break five goals to the good thanks to another finish from inside the box, Sam Kerr this time slotting the ball home into the far corner.

Leicester City were better after the break, although Chelsea’s job had been finished very early on in the game. Jessie Fleming netted a sixth goal from 12 yards in the 50th minute and the floodgates threatened to open again but the hosts remained more rigid.

The Foxes did have one big chance themselves when Natasha Flint unleashed a rocket of a shot from distance but Ann-Katrin Berger pulled off an excellent save in the Chelsea goal.

Hayes’ side added two further goals in the closing stages of the match. First, Beth England headed in number seven before Kirby rounded off the scoring from close range.

Chelsea end the weekend three points clear at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table while Leicester City remain rooted to the bottom.

New manager doing well then?

In fairness, you can see the changes he's made and the positivity it has brought. He's clearly trying different combinations and trying to find something, it's work-in-progress, but we're a far more front foot side now. I think Bedford set us up more defensively, and was looking more for growth via stability... or something.

Tbh, I'm liking what I see. Given our limited resources and the clear differences in class, I think Kirk is doing his best to find an answer. Whether it'll be enough, only time will tell. The results against the likes of Chelsea are not as important as the performances in those games, and we did ok. We use those games as practice matches. The Reading result though, that was a big blow - and not a fair reflection of the game I might add. We have to look to pick up points in other games now (other than the reverse fixture that is), and that's not going to be easy. That said, there were signs against Reading that we're capable.

I would have been there to watch but was ill in bed. Perhaps just as well.

I watched the game on FA Player.

We were battered in the first half, second we played with more purpose and intent. A far better performance, although still conceding 3 goals.

Defence was indeed awful.

Wonder what odds I would get on us not gaining any points this season?
