I sit in SK2 and the singing section defo made a difference, faded towards the end but understandable because they game went crap for us.

I feel a lot of the guys who sit around me don’t really know the newish songs so don’t join in, especially the Daka song, I only know it because I look it up but I doubt others will.

Thought it was a good craic really.

Room for improvement, sure, but that will come with time and a few memorable moments. It's just refreshing to be able to back the team without being surrounded by morons more interested in squaring up to the away fans, as was increasingly the case in L1.

Every match I went to last season, I was either sitting by gobshite coked up morons or loud ignorant Neanderthals.

If everyone was more like this lot then maybe I’d not have hated going to games so much?

Is that a cryptic message to tell me to duck off and go sit somewhere else? ;-)

I read somewhere on another forum or thread that the song is basically you mumble half the word and as long as you know it's Patson Daka he comes from Zambia that'll do

Alexa play waka, waka by Shakira 👍 shouldn't be to hard to grasp. My 11 year old can manage it.

On the words thing. The comments on that have been noted, the group is looking into ways to help get more supporters up to speed with them.

We're SK4 and could definitely hear you guys, and week done. Unfortunately, I couldn't make out all of the songs clearly enough to join in. There was a good group next to us in SK3 who were pretty vocal but not necessarily at the same time and with songs.

I know we've the new chants thread but could we have a thread of current songs on here?

Songs lyrics in the SK1 new supporter area are self promoting and over wordy just because they ‘can’

Hardly the Anfield kop, keep it simple

From a central seat it sounds like the small mumbling section of SK1 being the infant school trying to out sing the seniors in L1

Bizarre why there’s not one more effective vocal support base rather than one and an annex

Can only get better ….hopefully

Come on pal, most of the songs have a dozen words or less in them. I've got mates whose toddlers have managed to pick up some of the new chants so they can't be that difficult. How are they self-promoting too?

The wordiest ones being sung are the traditional chants, and they've carried on for decades so we're clearly capable as a fanbase of learning and retaining decent songs.

To many old fans in our fanbase, lost a generation of fans to United Liverpool an Arsenal at the start of the epl era, hopefully a new young era of Leicester lads can spark an atmosphere in the future.

Tbh that’s the first time I realised the Daka song is actually based on a real song. Has that thing been in the charts? As you can imagine I’m not a follower of Shakira’s ‘tunes.’ - I thought a Patson fanboy had studied some Zambian and made it up!

I used take beer cans with me at Filbert st occasionally and drink it in the toilet cubicle, smh.

My dad always tells me about a time he was walking out of Filbo and a bloke in front of him got cracked on the head by a falling half full beer can, made a right state of him apparently.

No judgement on you here by the way mate, but it’s a good example of why it’s good to be cautious of what’s getting in.

Edit: I thought we were in a different thread here to be honest lol

Singing Section Update: Plans for 2023/24

Leicester City’s Singing Section trial will continue into the 2023/24 season, as the Club looks to build on the feedback of the trial’s first full campaign and further enhance the matchday atmosphere at King Power Stadium.
Following a series of successful pilots since 2020, undertaken at the request of match-attending supporters, the Club introduced a season-long trial of a designated Singing Section in SK1 from the start of the 2022/23 campaign. Backed by supporter feedback, its aim was to give like-minded fans an opportunity to congregate in a defined area of the stadium to provide sustained and coordinated vocal support for the team.

Feedback to the 2022/23 trial

Having invited feedback on the 2022/23 trial throughout the season, the Club once again reached out to match-attending supporters in March for an overall review of the trial’s success. This review was carried out via a survey open to all Season Ticket Holders and matchday ticket purchasers, plus in-person consultations with participants from inside and outside the Singing Section. The consultation included contributions from approximately 2,454 supporters.

The results of the survey can be found HERE. Of the current occupants of the Singing Section that completed the survey, 85% supported the continuation of the trial. The trial’s continuation was also supported by 70% of respondents situated elsewhere in the stadium.

Further feedback received will be used to improve the Singing Section operation during the 2023/24 season and help shape ongoing discussions with participating supporters to enhance the experience on offer.

Continuing the trial into 2023/24

Having analysed the views received and reviewed operational feedback from the season, the Club has decided to continue with the trial into 2023/24, while continuing to regularly consult with supporters, continually monitoring the trial’s impact on the matchday and collaboratively exploring how we can enhance the experience. The Singing Section will continue to be defined as:

SK1; Rows M to PP; seats 1 to 29 and seats 208-218

Supporters are welcome to provide their feedback throughout the season by email to [email protected] providing their Supporter Number to ensure feedback can be appropriately categorised.

Renewing your Singing Section Season Ticket and availability

Season Tickets in the Singing Section sold out for the 2022/23 season, meaning availability for 2023/24 will be subject to renewals, which begin on Friday 26 May. Any available seats that have not been renewed, will become available to relocating Season Ticket Holders on Thursday 15 June.

In order to give supporters an opportunity to try the Singing Section experience, 200 tickets are made available for matchday ticket purchasers, which can also be accessed by Season Ticket Holders in other areas of the stadium by contacting the City Sales Centre.

Think it’s more the clubs fault not having the kop where the family stand is and then having two signing sections doing help
