Kasper Schmeichel:

“Well, my contract was coming up and I wasn’t really getting any response [from Leicester],” Schmeichel continues. “I’d have loved to have stayed at Leicester but that wasn’t what was meant to happen. I love the club. Would I go back there? Of course I would. I’d always go back and try and help them. It’s home. Every time I talk about Leicester I start smiling. I definitely miss it. I watch all their games."

I know it's just football, but as a lifelong supporter of this club, it's just heartbreaking to read that.

So much negligence it's unbelievable!

Wow, what was that about then, perhaps gives an insight also into the other players who havent renewed as well.

Honestly spoke really well last night. He has a knack of commanded respect in conversation, his knowledge of football and LCFC is exemplary.

He is destined for management at some point and I hope its with us within the next few years.

No he wasn't, was awful for the last two seasons. Its the fact he was replaced by Ward who was even worse by a mile that make people think that.

I think it's pretty unfair to say he was ''awful for the last two seasons'' - one of which we won the FA Cup, remember his cup winning save from Mount? There are maybe 2/3 keeers currently playing who could make that kind of stop.

What an earth?! lol Sure, last year was probably his worst for us but he was still pretty good. Every other season he's been top class. Not in that absolute top, top tier of keepers in PL history but not far off it. Take Allisson for example; Kasper makes just as many worldies and far fewer big mistakes, yet he's lauded as this other worldly keeper. Kasper was good enough to play for anyone (again, not saying he was the best keeper in the world) and luckily he stayed at us for a decade.

Did he saying anything about Rodgers ?

He said good things about Rogers to be fair - said he is a good guy with the right message but ultimately that message got lost over the years because the more you repeat the same thing the more it loses its meaning

well, we don’t know what his contract demands were… and I know we had to reduce the wage bill…

hindsight’s is a wonderful  thing, but it sure feels like a mistake… or maybe the mistake was not replacing him… maybe both can be considered mistakes!!

I think the biggest mistake of all was handing the no.1 jersey to Ward without him having to earn it.

He’s very articulate and comes off quite intelligent. He spoke in a previous interview that Leicester’s predicament was bothering him a lot.

Rodgers had no new ideas to help get us out of this rut.

Got it :D

Kasper loves the club and we love him (well I do atleast). He will walk through brick walls for us. We have to get him back in some capacity maybe as a coach?

if it’s not Rogers it’s the board who mistreated him. I doubt vichai would have let him go like that.

ward has been a horrible replacement tbh

yes kasper was starting to dwindle but he was more than just our no.1 he was a key leader in the group and would not have let heads drop like they have done to be in this freakin mess we’re in right now.  You could see on tv how much it pains him to see us suffer like this! That’s the emotions of a man who cares deeply about us.
