Kasper Schmeichel:

“Well, my contract was coming up and I wasn’t really getting any response [from Leicester],” Schmeichel continues. “I’d have loved to have stayed at Leicester but that wasn’t what was meant to happen. I love the club. Would I go back there? Of course I would. I’d always go back and try and help them. It’s home. Every time I talk about Leicester I start smiling. I definitely miss it. I watch all their games."

I know it's just football, but as a lifelong supporter of this club, it's just heartbreaking to read that.

So much negligence it's unbelievable!

It’s even more heartbreaking that like us, Poor Kasper is compelled to watch all of the games.

Funny how things started to really unravel in the changing room after kasper left. He’s just the guy we need right now to get this team to stop feeling sorry for themselves and fight their way out of this mess.

if it is to be marsh at the wheel than get it down asap so we can prepare for the next games and work on bringing Kasper back. He belongs with us ffs!

It's no surprise. Was astonished the amount of  people that wanted him gone. His off the field influence was huge, even if it was occasionally causing friction. As you say, no way the players would be allowed to produce this crap if he was in the dressing room.

Not saying he's ones of the very top, top keepers prem history but I'd say he's just below that. World class for most of his time here and a massive big game player.

Think it’s common knowledge that Rodgers was the architect behind Kasper’s exit. I imagine Rodgers’ fragile ego couldn’t handle a more influential person’s presence in the dressing room.

Kasper I’m sure would’ve negotiated a pay cut if it wasn’t for Brendan. He’s by all accounts on half the wage at Nice.

The whole “two number ones” bollocks was a smokescreen to hide the fact that Rodgers wanted him out IMO.

But but elite manager Brendon woznt backd

Would love to see him throw some shade towards Rodgers but he's too sensible and classy for that.

Would be great though wouldn't it😄

the decision to let kasper go wasn’t necessarily the wrong one. The issue was that rodgers chose blind faith towards someone who had done little to earn it.

I don’t even want to say he wasn’t adequately replaced because in my opinion Iversen would have been just fine.

You just have to wonder how many more points we’d have now if he’d played every game.  i’m looking forward to looking at iversens stats at the end of the season and comparing them to kaspers to see how close they are.

Kasper would have been on more money, granted, but now to replace him it will cost more than any new contract would have cost ten times over before even going into his leadership qualities he brings to the team. He still was performing to the highest level last season!!

No he wasn't, was awful for the last two seasons. Its the fact he was replaced by Ward who was even worse by a mile that make people think that.

I’d prefer if he threw something else beginning with S.

I remember not being overly impressed with 1 or two of the goals he conceded in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea maybe 3 years ago.

Why is he wearing mourning clothes?

That must have been an audition earlier in the day, as he had a suit in when he said it  20 minutes ago!
