Leicfox Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 Jason Euell would be worth a shot so would Freddy Eastwood but it might well cost us a fair bit for him Agree with Freddy Eastwood
lcfc true blue josh 18 Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 i reckon we should try and get horsfield on loan, he is strong, powerful and knows where the goal is , wot does anyone else think
Milky Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 i reckon we should try and get horsfield on loan, he is strong, powerful and knows where the goal is , wot does anyone else think he's old. i'd rather we get someone in who still has there best years to come and can be part of the club in the long term. i've no doubt that horsfield could do a good job, but he would very much be a short term option.

Milky Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 Isn't that what loans are generally about? allright smart arse . most loans are with the intention to buy aren't they. you take a look at the player during the loan period, then assess whether you want to make an offer for them when the loan ends. loaning horsefield in my opinion would be pretty pointless as signing him permanently after the loan period due to his age wouldn't be worthwhile, so we would only have him for a few months. what does that achieve in the long term?

You're absolutely right in that context but players are loaned for short term expediency for example what are the chances of us signing Smudger - None to when hell freezes over. I wasn't being a smart arse just defending lcfc true blue josh 18 right to suggest a short term loan as CL hasn't specified the nature of his intended loans.
Milky Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 yeh, and he asked everyone else what they think so i gave my opinion. on the smith deal. ok, so it looks as though we aren't going to be able to sign him, but at least it has built a bridge between leicester and a promising young footballer. such a relationship may be of use at a later date. with horsefield there is no future potential whatsoever.
Mark Posted 2 December 2005 Posted 2 December 2005 http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Stor..._864024,00.html Owusu-Abeyie looks like the next Arsenal player to be sent out on loan, get in there Levein. Smith and Quincy on the wings, oh yes
Ric Flair Posted 6 December 2005 Posted 6 December 2005 I would like to see: IN: Scott Robertson from Dundee Quincy from Arsenal on loan Smith on loan for the rest of the season Kris Boyd from Kilmarnock or Izale McLeod from MK Scum OUT: Gareth Williams Danny Tiatto

Robertson is a good idea.
Ric Flair Posted 6 December 2005 Posted 6 December 2005 Kris Boyd has been linked with a move to Rangers and if we signed Izale Mcleod I would cry . Robertson is a good idea. Why would you cry? He's pretty good and has been described as League One's Thierry Henry.

Agreed my learned friend he has been described in some parts as that, but I disagree totally having been to the national hockey stadium this season and witnseed Isels qualties. He never ever looks like he is in total controle of the ball, he can be shut out of games extremly easily and is not really that gooder finisher. Alot to draw from one performance I know, however from TV highlights and word of mouth I have learned that he is not much better then the very low regard I hold him in. From what ive heard/seen of course... I may be wrong, but I think im in a better postion to comment having actually seen him play recently. I should think the sheep shaggers didnt get rid of him without reason as well. I remember your comment about Billy Sharp being told where to go by Sheff U. If a player scoring 15 goals in league one who was rejected by a Sheff U doesn't make the Leicester City grade, what makes you think Isale could do a job for us? Rory Falon... Rory Falon.

I have only seen highlights of McLeod and he's looked good, but obviously I can't be sure he'd be good for us from what i've seen. My comments on Sharp were only made as caution when several people mentioned him, i've actually never seen any footage of him so can't comment on his ability. As for Fallon, i'm not keen. He's been about a few years now and I don't think he could cut it at the level we require.
Ric Flair Posted 7 December 2005 Posted 7 December 2005 Piotr Wlodarczyk from Legia Warsaw. Quality international striker and his contract is up in the summer and could be picked up for a nominal fee. He's had a trial with Aberdeen and they were desperate to sign him but had spent all their money, he knows where the net is. He's 28 which is a decent age and there's no having to 'wait' for the striker to come good like we have been doing with several of our recent strikers.

Remember he is only 23, and now is finding the net for a struggling side who aren't creating much. They had one shot on target at the weekend and he tucked it away for a 1-0 win. He's the kind of striker we lack, a player who will consistently find the net when he's giving the ball in the box, on the deck or with his head. Could he do it at our level? I think he could. Another point is he is out of contract at the end of the season, if he doesn't sign a extentsion by January Swindon will be tempted with a six figure offer. Thing about McLeod is (apart from the fact I dont rate him) He is fast and Skillfull (apparently) and can't hit a barn door. Now who does that remind you of? differnt kind of players offer differnt dimensions for teams as well as comeptition

I quite like the sound of that Polish dude.

I would be very impressed if Craig signed someone from obscurity for a nominal fee and he scored 20 goals a season, but I dont think the bloke will ever do it, he struck gold with Gerrbrand, but I dont think he has the abilty to repeat that in his search for a striker.

He did it with de Vries when at Hearts.
The People's Hero Posted 7 December 2005 Posted 7 December 2005 I fancy we'll get a rubbish striker on loan from the prem, who will probably be hard working, quick and rubbish in front of goal. We'll also probably pick up some attacking players from the lower leagues 'for the future'. I'd like us to sign Robbie Blake from Leeds, if they'd be happy to sell. They have loads of strikers, not sure if he's currently getting a game, but he's a striker I've always liked. We really need a goalscorer too. Tony Cottee perhaps Or Iwan. I should have asked him the other night!

We do need a goalscorer and as you say it will probably be a loan signing we get in but Levein isn't afraid to sign players/strikers from abroad and i'd like to see an unknown commodity come in and take the league by surprise.
Dr The Singh Posted 7 December 2005 Posted 7 December 2005 Apparently Charlton are having a clear out in January, Jason Euell could be a possibilty, so could Johansson and Lisbie!!! Personally I hope he signs 2 strikers, one to be in competition with MDV for eg Horsfield and another as a natural finisher. Also like him to sign a attacking midfielder and another midfielder that can control a game ie Izzet, Kuomas!!

If we had 2 new strikers, where would Hume fit in to this equation? And 2 new central midfielders would mean we would have 7 central midfielders and you could add Hume in to that if there's no place for him upfront. What we need is a striker and somebody to challenge Sylla for a place on the right wing and depending on when Wesolowski is fit perhaps a central midfielder who can open up defences.
