shep Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Levien will sign Andy Kirk from Northampton in January, sorry to let the cat out of the bag Craig! He is a striker Hearts Reject..
Gené and Tonic Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Hmmm. Young, international, a full-back? We should get him and then NEVER play him. Because that's what we do with ALL our young international full-backs. Shocking but true
surrifox Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I believe that Robert Earnshaw has asked W.Brom for a loan move- he should be able to cut it with the dross that comprises most of the Championship
Katy Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I believe that Robert Earnshaw has asked W.Brom for a loan move- he should be able to cut it with the dross that comprises most of the Championship *Shudders*
Katy Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Who's he play for? On top form as always I see Mr G
Ric Flair Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I'd like to see Kris Boyd and Jamal Campbell-Ryce plus the obvious loan extension for the God Smith.
Lester LXXIV Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Levien will sign Andy Kirk from Northampton in January, sorry to let the cat out of the bag Craig! He is a striker Hearts Reject.. He certainly knows where the goal is doesn't he! His stats are very good. Scored goals consistently at 3 clubs. Only slight concern is the level he has played at, but he does look sharp!
Thracian Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 *Shudders* If there's any chance in the world he'd be my choice. Terrific player. Absolutely made for our side with his elusive movement and the way he finds chances in almost any situation. Robson amazes me at times - and a good many of the West Brom supporters from what they've told me.
Nationwider Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Levien will sign Andy Kirk from Northampton in January, sorry to let the cat out of the bag Craig! He is a striker Hearts Reject.. I think that's the most realistic suggestion yet. Right age, right price range, now fully fit again after injury.
Thracian Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I think that's the most realistic suggestion yet. Right age, right price range, now fully fit again after injury. I've not followed them closely but I can't remember anyone setting the fans on fire with his marksmanship over there. They've tended to underperform a bit really. Is he really any good. Earnshaw sounds a lot more fun to me.

Im not doubting for one minute hes a good player, certainly for Cardiff anyway but all I can say is if he did ever come to us I hope hes never a sub when im sitting at the bottom of the West Stand.

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Ric Flair, good call about Jamal Campbell-Ryce, he tore us apart last Boxing Day at The Walkers when playing for Rotherham. I'm also a big fan of Pawel Abbott, but what about Kenny Deuchar of Gretna - Levein must like him as he's Scottish and always scores as his name is forever flashing up on Soccer Goals Saturday on Sky Sports News. I am also a big fan of big strikers so give Karl Hawley a shout at Carlisle???? or even a young Arsenal, Chelsea of Man.Utd striker on loan ?????

He played for Hearts a while ago, hence the realistic connection. He does score goals wherever he goes: Hearts 30 from 64(50) in the league Boston 18 from 25(0) Northampton 11 from 12(3) I'm not a harbinger of doom, honestly! I'm just trying to read his mind, and I think this is the player he might go for, especially now he's fit again. Earnshaw would be fun. A front line of Earny, Hume, Hammond and Smith would be electric. There'd be no chance of getting him permanently (wages £Â£Ã‚£) and I'd caution against too many loan signings. If Smith left, however.....
Ric Flair Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I think that's the most realistic suggestion yet. Right age, right price range, now fully fit again after injury. I have often wondered when we are going to sign Andy Kirk as we have been linked with him numerous times and had the peftect opportunity to sign him last season when he left Boston but Levein obviously wasn't that arsed. I don't think Kirk will come here, it's more likely to be a loan signing from the premiership so i've been told.

He's also a doctor though and has gone on record that he doesn't want to give that up really so he's quite happy to play and train part-time for Gretna whilst being a doctor during the week. The level he's playing at is also extremely shocking.

Smith's capture was a stroke of genius, but I'm a little concerned that we're going for a Prem reserve striker. Midfielders like Smith are one thing, but Prem clubs are very loathe to let go of the best strikers. It won't do us any good in the long run, and we're more likely to get a Steffan Moore-type player again.

It could well be a striker who is coming on loan with a view to a permanent deal, not just a player who we've got no chance of signing. Plus Levein did say he was getting a striker as a result of our other strikers not scoring and perhaps if they do start scoring he won't bother? I didn't realise Jamal Campbell-Ryce was out on loan at Southend!
Bert Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Jason Euell would be worth a shot so would Freddy Eastwood but it might well cost us a fair bit for him

Plus Levein did say he was getting a striker as a result of our other strikers not scoring and perhaps if they do start scoring he won't bother? I didn't realise Jamal Campbell-Ryce was out on loan at Southend! Yeah it's a strange one that. Good player excellent feet, he gets knocked about a bit though. Spoke to a few Rotherham fans about him they say he's got great talent but has problems against big defenders. Got a chance to watch him up very close as Rotherham played Coalville in a friendly in July @ Owen street, was a pleasure. I think he still needs to sign a stiker Rick and the problems we will have on Wednesday highlight that. Pawell Abott . Goals have dried up. Bit Pricy Rory Falon !!!!

Dr The Singh Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I'd just like to write that again: Earnshaw, Hume, Hammond, Smith. Just to savour it. I don't think there would be many defences that would want to face that attack!!! Let's juat hope CL see's it like that!!!
Ric Flair Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 Lee Barnard from Tottenham, possibly the most prolific scorer at reserve level i've seen in a long while. Up there with Lupoli and Bredtner. He's 21 now though and I think he'd be worth a gamble.
