Gigs Abroad

Who have you gone to see on foreign soil?

 

I have seen Bloc Party in Barcelona and New Order in Brooklyn New York.

Do you mean gone specifically abroad to see? In which case, for me it's David Bowie in Bochum on the Serious Moonlight tour... and another one that's just not coming to mind.

 

Edit: got it, Nina Simone in Paris (before I moved to France)

 

Or do you mean have seen whilst being abroad? That'd be Crowded House and Dread Zeppelin in Boston, and ZZ Top in Miami.

 

I live abroad now so I'll not list the ones I've seen here in France!

Primavera in Barcelona this year. I saw Tame Impala, Gorillaz, Beach House, Nick Cave, Sharon van Etten, The National, Pond etc.

I was actually done shelling out to see Maiden live (because I've seen them 11 times) until I saw they just happened to be playing in Riga while I was there, and ticket prices there weren't terrible so I decided to go.

Done a few festivals abroad, Wacken (near Hamburg), Graspop (Belgium) and Hellfest (near Nantes).

 

Also saw Brian Setzer in Cologne but I was already in Germany. And The Hives, Good Charlotte and The Futureheads in Cologne (Velvet Revolver headlined but missed them unfortunately).

 

I think that's it...unless an ACDC tribute in Benidorm counts....

 

Next year Rammstein in Berlin which will be the first time I am purposely travelling abroad for a single band.

I've never been abroad to see another band, but I do have one gig that I'd love to do at some point in my life... Dropkick Murphys St Patrick's Day gig in Boston. Always looks like a hell of a party!
