Watching that back Lewis late braked and Oscar didn't make any attempt to defend, he looked like he was just accepting the overtake, keeping himself straight and allowing Lewis the room but Lewis came across.

The overtake was on and yes Lewis was ahead. So who caused the collision?

Bit to in the air for me for the stewards to give a decision either way.

Glad it didn’t affect Lewis’ race.

Yeah honest I think it's a bit of a grey area and it's probably a racing incident however because contact was made that affected oscars race the penalty had to be given, Oscar didnt do anything wrong but Lewis did come across him when he had nowhere to go, so I think it's a 60/40 - 70/30 situation. Ultimately I want drivers to be brave enough to make these moves on each other without having such harsh penalties that make them scared to attack. These modern cars are so big and the tracks are not changing at the rate the cars are, too many tracks these days where cars simply cannot overtake unless they make big lunges and I don't think it's very healthy.

Take Albon today, his tyres were an absolute shot, Mclaren was absolutely all over his gearbox at every corner, but all Alex has to do is park it in the middle and it forces Lando to have to bail out of the move. Albon with just enough straight line speed to make a big enough gap to defend at the next corner. These cars are way too big.

Massively agree.

While the F1 cars continue to be this big and heavy, tracks like Monza, Zandvoort, Austria, Baku and obviously Monaco just look stupid.

Yep, just to compare, Monaco this year had 22 overtakes. The exact same track in Formula E this season had 116 overtakes.

Merc have had a howler extended Hamilton’s contract. The guy is absolutely done.

Unlike your pathological obsession with him it would appear.

I don't see why Ferrari didn't put Sainz the lap that Max got past? Leave Charles out behind Max to make RB do something (or atleast think about something).

Waiting for him to box first means he has the upper hand they had the chance to do different and didn't even try, they need to look at their strategist.

Verstappen has only dropped 24 points this season.

Insane, with all the extra sprint races and fastest lap points too!

Reliability helps of course, but he's showing an absolute ruthlessness and domination that even the likes of Senna and Schumacher were not able to achieve. His current race win streak is double Hamilton's best effort. When was the last time Max made a mistake in a race that cost him points?

Was hoping for a bit more onboard of them "sending it" but I suspect RB probably didnt want to take the risks considering an F1 car is simply not made for this circuit with all the bumps and undulations of the circuit. But still, Vettel back in an F1 car!

He said in an interview that he can't write off a return in future, so I think he may be missing the sport. Hopefully a return is on the cards, generally I like to see younger drivers given a chance and let the past be the past, but I think there is always room for a 4x world champion, especially given how well Fernando is doing since his return. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.i-cant-say-no-vettel-refuses-to-rule-out-f1-comeback-after-2022-retirement.7nIFDXXywbtGQjEYU7bNPE.html

Edit: Personally, I think F1 would be fantastic a bit further up the ladder of F1.

Stroll bins it. Having a good car has really shown him up.

Bit of a dilemma for Stroll Snr but he has to get rid of the kid if Aston Martin are ever going to do anything.

He has to go at the end of this season.

They won’t, but should do it now (could’ve happened 5 or 6 races ago tbh).

Such a wasted seat.

Mega lap from George and huge from Carlos, said before he's criminally underrated and looks to be getting to grips with this car, and Ferrari look to be heading in the right direction. Big big lap from Carlos and really hope he can drive tomorrow like he did in Monza
