Shame that Lando didn't try and defend it, as possibly Piastri could've got involved if he held Max up a little bit. But great to see someone else leading some laps at the start lol

At least it was actually interesting at the front for 5 laps...

Although you just knew it was inevitable anyway

Red Bull probably got on the phone to McLaren .

Did the full 3 days at Silverstone on general admission tickets, as much as I have enjoyed it Im glad it’s Sunday night now. A pretty good weekend for us as my brother who has shown no interest in sports his whole life has become obsessed with F1 over the past 12 months. I think my dad was over the moon that he could go to an event that he and his 3 sons actually all had an interest in.

A few thoughts, I last went in 2011, the whole dynamics of the weekend has changed drastically and like most things it’s very much a money making event over anything else. They seem determined to cram as many people as possible into every bit of space they can, especially on the Sunday to the point where people just don’t have any view of the track.

Organisation levels were impressive to cope with the demand, but you could feel the strain of the sheer volume of people today put on those trying to run all aspects around the track.

Finally it wasn’t until this weekend that I realised how many c***s there were around. So many ignorant people, with only thoughts for themselves. The amount of people who I have stood in line next to and watched them blow e-cigarette smoke into the faces of others. Some other little bits that just made me question the respect and decency people have towards others.

I last went in 2008 on general admission.  Under £100 a ticket back then.  Found a decent view off Maggotts and Becketts and sat there, soaked, for the whole day.  Good to see Massa spin off and Lewis win the race though.  Some people totally mad though sitting at the wire fencing listening to the deafening roar as they drove past.  The worst part of the day was escaping the car park.  Took an hour and a half to get out.  Can't remember there being any ****s about.  Times have changed though.

The money making thing is to be expected, you cannot deny them wanting to cash in as much as possible on their only weekend of proper revenue generation of the year.

And the idiots is a British thing not an F1 thing, I have been to F1 in Bahrain, Azerbaijan and the US and all people (even the drunk orange army) are very respectful, courteous and kind etc. This is the main reason my wife comes to these events, because it's so much classier than attending other sports in Britain.

All smiles until someone dares challenge him.  I doubt it will last once someone does.  And still finds time to moan about the first 5 laps.  The lack of cheers was telling.

Well done McLaren.

Few athletes are paragons of emotional maturity, especially in F1, but Verstappen is on a different level of immaturity. He makes three-year olds looks like zen buddhist monks by comparison.

I've gotten to the point that I just want to see him fail. That's how bad I think his attitude ia.

Yes mate, totally wasn’t meaning to suggest it was an F1 thing. It’s definitely a British thing, and it will only get worse I’m afraid. We said we would probably look to try a race abroad next time.
