Doesn't Enzo say whilst he is recovering he still not ready & hasn't had a full training session yet, also don't see him in the training photo's?

Was in a training video on Instagram

It wouldn't surprise me enormously if he doesn't feature much until the back end of the season.

I think we all assumed because Wanya and Kasey were getting so much football at the start of the year that Alves would be a shoe in when he recovers. But now those two are largely out and Enzo has settled in to a comfortable rotation of his first choice, I don't think he's in a rush to force Alves in to the first team.

When he first came back from injury pretty sure Maresca said then something on the lines of we'll see what he's like in the reserves first.

Wilf being injured just means more of Casadei, Praet and Yunus in the starting eleven I assume.

Was he? He’s not on the lcfc official site or on X which you’d assume would be the same video

McAteer has only been out because of injury tbf. He would’ve been heavily part of the rotation and I guess he will be if he can ever stay fit.

I was told by someone who knows him that he's likely to be in the squad today. I'm taking his comment with a pinch of salt for what it's worth.

Would love that! Fingers crossed eh.

There was no chance of him being in the squad as he hasn’t done a single full blooded training session with the 1st team since he’s been back from his ACL let alone from his recent injury set back.

If he's only just returned to training this week, there was very little chance he'd be ready yet. Enzo tends to have them back in for at least 2 weeks before they're in the match day squad. McAteer has been training now since Christmas and hasn't been included beforehand.

Is that true? He's trained with the 1st team quite a lot in October and November.

As I understand it he’s started training sessions with the 1st team on the odd occasion but then gone off to do his own program except when the sessions have been light or gym work.

I don’t believe he has been in what I’d call a proper full blooded session geared around ‘the next match’

If you watch those Oct-Nov, even yesterdays training session (after he was pointed out to me) he is there at the beginning doing warm ups, shuttles and keep ball etc but then not seen later in the more intense football / game side of training.

Enzo doesn't break players as readily as Rodgers.

Seem to bring them back much more slowly.

Yeh I don’t think we’re gonna see Alvez make his full debut until much later in the season once promotion is all but certain. Disappointing for us fans but maybe atleast hope he’s the icing on the cake at the end of the season. Oh well. Let’s move on now.

What a chance to step up for him with Wilf out. I'm sure he'll be doing everything he can to get fit.

It's unlikely he's getting in ahead of Casadi and Akgun.

You're probably right, but with the potential that Will has, he's absolutely made for that 8 role with how he can travel with the ball. I really hope Enzo rates him enough to give him a crack if he's fit enough.
