The opportunity for a change in the crowd might be nearer than we think.

Can see a great swathe of the post PL winning Season ticket holders ****ing it off when we get relegated.

Hopefully as many people give it up as possible.

Italian ultras refer to relegations as 'purges' lol

Biggest issue is the 2014 ST holders tbf not post title

Massive group of people who were in their late 40’s back then who purchased them and have never moved on

My block in the east stand is almost 90% the same faces as it was in 2014, suspect many other areas are the same

Yep nothing changed when we got relegated, I doubt anything would change again.

But even if it did, they'd all be mixed in with fans that aren't interested in creating an atmosphere.

Thats why we need an end...and that will never happen with the current owners.

What do you mean by never moved on?

Given up/got bored? Changed team? Died?

I don’t care about the age of the fanbase. Yes there are many older folk who have gone for decades and that’s alright with me. What I would prefer is if they helped out with the singing and chanting. It’s not all down to the younger folk to do, voices are voices at the end of the day. I do think the internet has ruined the young generation, and all this limbs business is definitely an English thing. You don’t see European fans falling down 5 rows on their backs with the their hairy arses on show. What they do it make the ground toxic and loud, a proper fortress.
someone has mentioned Chelsea and Preston.. big allocation, something to sing about on both games. But if many join in then that’s the result.

I agree with all of this but I do think we have a major mentality problem in the fanbase. Even our younger fans don’t really do themselves any favours. It just doesn’t bother people enough. Look at all our neighbours. Derby, forest, Coventry, villa, wolves, even West Brom and Birmingham have better support. It’s just weird, I don’t even know what the answer is but we do genuinely have a terrible reputation now across the country as a fanbase and it’s deserved. I’m too young to have gone filbert street but it can’t have been like this surely.

Oh it was through the ups and downs.

I’m in my 30s and that’s pretty ageist, anyone that follows something up whether it’s ageist or racist etc with a caveat to say it isn’t, generally means it is.

my dads late 60s and falls into the bracket above, are you saying he should give up his ticket?

No not at all. The atmosphere needs to imorove though and if people arnt interested in vocally supporting the side they should sit else where. I just hope the club make that whole end safe standing and we may finally get a bit of noise back in the ground.

Expecting 50/60 year olds to start singing and chanting at home games is never going to happen.Apart from the fact that it would be the most Leicester Leicester Ra Ra Ra thing imaginable (Hardly intimidating)Most have grown up by this age.

The whole stadium is wrong. It’s a soulless bowl that’s basically a wrap round family stand. The best thing about Filbert Street was that each stand or area catered for the different kind of fan. There were arguably 9/10 areas to pick from.

But don’t be fooled by the rose tinted spectacle wearers. The Pens during the eighties were often out sung by the away contingent. At times there was more noise during the build up to kickoff and not many more than a couple of hundred at the back joining in.

Oh I forget another Vardy, won more than you chant which was so painfully wide of the mark. Wolves after all three times league champions, cup four times and the forerunners for the European Cup. Some right post PL goons in our support

I know you are correct but the anti-Vardy stuff is seriously dull. The same song for nearly three years.

What an amazing change of view. Only a few hours ago you said

"The average age must be well over 50. Vast majority with faces like smacked arses even before a ball has been kicked. No excitement, no atmosphere and no noise. It was similar to the walk up to a family funeral.

In the ground, old folk being helped up the stairs to their seat. This is the problem we have. The age of our fan base is increasing.and no one is gving up their ticket which allow younger folk the chance to attend.

Also, these folk will be the first to moan about relocation if safe standing is ever put in behind the goal.

Don't mean this to sound ageist as everyone is entitled to attend, however the atmosphere will never be any good with this kind of fan in the kop."

So do enlighten us, sweet master of all LCFC supporters. Are old people the problem or is it everyone?

Also, bit in bold is a superb lol. What a way to castigate old people and then try and dissociate yourself from your own words. What a weasel.

I was speaking to the mechanic who does my car, big Leicester fan and we got onto the topic of our fanbase. He was in the pens and said that Leicester has never been a singing club, its natural state is to be quiet and reserved. It can get going but ultimately it’s never at any point been particularly good. Maybe it’s just not in the clubs culture.

What I've said is correct. Vast majority do look miserable even before a ball has been kicked. I've not once said no one should be allowed to attend. You made that bit up.

So long as he's not holding the nail above your tyre at that moment!

But you could say that about almost any club.

I've been to Stoke, Derby, Forest, West Brom, Birmingham, and Wolves when the atmosphere has been absolutely shite.

And I've also been to those same grounds that have occasionally been rocking ... when something good has happened.

Oh for sure, but it does feel with us that the fanbase is abnormally passive.
