Thomas Frank for me

Didn't he just extend with Brentford? He'd be mad to leave a 4 season succesful project of his own making, for a relegation contender.

Two more names I would put out there are Roger Schmidt of Benfica (coached PSV when we played them) and Bruno Genesio of Rennes. Both very good managers who play good stuff, and used to developing young players too.

Everyone wants to manage in the Premier League because it IS the Super League. That's why Wolves got Lopetgui and Villa got Emery. Either of the two I mentioned above would be great, and personally I'd be in favour of BIelsa too. It would be mental, but the good times would be amazing. The biggest complaint about Rodgers is that the football has become turgid, which is 100% true!

There's been a lot of discussion about who people would want as a replacement (119 pages) and it's become cluttered, so thought i'd spend some time scouring through the threads to put a poll together of potential replacements. I've left out unrealistic choices like Pochettino. Would be good to see where FT members stand on replacements.

So Pochettino is unrealistic but you added Pearson and 20% have wasted their vote this making it a wasted poll.

I know some fans love him but he’s not coming back and we all know that.

The candidate King Power has employed twice is less likely than every other candidate that has been employed for a cumulative total of zero times? OK.

I had assumed they had learnt their lesson by now.

Agree with everything apart from the bit about Bielsa.

Because Pochettino is unrealistic in the sense there is no way in our current situation where he would ever step foot near the job.

How is Pearson unrealistic? If the club asked him to come back he would come back in a shot.

The club won’t ask him to come back unless we are relegated and I reckon they know they could do better even then.

I've been banging the Schmidt drum for years. Think we've missed our time with him now though, why I didn't throw him in with Glassner

It’s impossible to guess what the club want to do, all we can speculate on is whether a manager would come here if we approached them.

I don’t think it’s likely that we would approach him, I just took names from the discussion thread that people seemed keen on and then took off the names I thought wouldn’t come to us.

many of the names are unlikely for example Slot, but the lure of the premier league may be enough, whereas Poch would get a top 6 club in any country.

Strange that Poch is still out of work.

He was a manger for a team that once came third over here. You seriously think that any of our top six would employ someone who has managed third in a two horse race and second in a one horse race?

As I mentioned I just felt you spoilt the poll by including Pearson, I’d have liked to have seen who people seriously thought were candidates rather then then reaching for their comfort blanket.

Another one who I’d love us to get is Rudi Garcia. Guaranteed another name our board would have no idea who he is.

You’ve spoken to the board?

You May be right but they once went very left field and employed an Italian.

Yes an Italian who’d previously managed in the premiership. I do wonder if they look further afield to coaches who haven’t managed in Britain.

He's done an amazing job with Benfica, PSV fans fell out of love with him by the end.

Don't knock the clout of the Premier League, plus the salary we pay Rodgers. You would be surprised who we could get!

However, I suspect Schmidt ends up at an Italian club like Milan next.

People think Kompany didn't do well in Belgium but it is the opposite.  He took over a car crash of a club with no money, signed young players and got them to 3rd in the league where they were the highest scorers and had the best defence.  Since he has left they have gone down to 12th and the manager that took over from him was sacked.  He struggled at the start when he was player manager so stepped down for a while until he retired from playing.
