Think you read my mind.

Whether we like it or not, football has become a business and businesses that stay stubborn and don’t keep up with the times go under.

Vichai seemed a top bloke but he was a ruthless businessman. He didn’t take any shit and I doubt he would’ve put up with this.

Top just doesn’t seem to have it in him but he needs to sort that out sharpish.

There were plenty of odd decisions with Vichai incharge.

This is the thing, it's a myth because he has passed that Vichai was good, he wasn't.

He got lucky with Pearson, Walsh and Shakespeare, then got a 2nd wind with Puel and Macia.

I'm not sure things would have ended much differently, He put Susan and Rudders in charge. Up until 22 it was a success under Rodgers so you could understand backing him.

Every year that goes by the more good work is undone.

Really they need a top class visionary director of football who has a scooby. There is a lot of dead wood stealing a living at the club at management level, it needs a massive clear out, it's stale and ineffective.

You could say that Vichai was a 'chequebook' chairman.

Whatever Rudkin and the scouts liked in a player of interest, he'd sign a cheque off to try and buy them.

Is that Coady that Percy refers to on £100k a week?

Get this bloke out the club. They are purposely sabotaging us.

They were lucky that Pearson wanted to return here and without Pearson we wouldn't have been promoted. Which was even more evident with them appointing Sousa and then Sven, throwing cash around, and getting nowhere.

Exactly, the throwing cash thing is exactly what Top did with Rodgers, difference being Rodgers had no direction or real philosophy and just bought players that I cant fathom. Its all King Power know. Pearson and the personality of Ranieri in the title winning season were the reason why this club achieved what it did, the FA Cup was mostly down to Puel who also might not be a bad DOF.

The luck they've had with managerial appointments is crazy.

The KP targets:

Sousa

Sven

Rodgers

Maresca (strongly recommended iirc)

Previously at the club/was already at the club:

Pearson

Shakespeare

Applied/out of work:

Ranieri

Puel

Cooper

RVN

It's so lazy. Top hasn't done much differently to Vichai in terms of managerial recruitment, basically what's under our nose besides Rodgers and Maresca.

Had we not played and lost (somehow) to RVN's United would we appoint him? I think not.

Do we have a Head of Recruitment who's also to blame here, or has Rudkin put himself in charge there too?

Glover.

Comments that Bilal was a recomendation from Leuven's DOF. Therefore, in his time here. 2 and half years, he has picked one maybe two players worth their value. Fatawu and (jurys out) Mavididi.

Wasted the Jan 2023 window.

Ok summer last year. However, we picked up household names. Winks and Coady. Hermansen and Akgun were Enzo recomendations. Leaving Mavididi and Fatawu as scouted. Perhaps Cannon too.

Last summer he did very little. Skipp, Ayew, BCDR do not need "scouting". Okoli is a flop simply on the basis we want him out. Bilal was a recomendation. Facundo you could give him.

Has done an overall poor job.

Has done an overall poor job.

Every player has been the managers pick hence half the problem we have today in players like Ayew, DCR and Skipp.

The chief scout gets an assignment for example, Cooper’s “premier league experience”. The scout then has a responsibility to draw up a shortlist of players that meet the assignment and are attainable, following that the manager will pick from a shortlist then the DOF will attempt to negotiate a deal.

At least from what I’m seeing, the scouts have been given freedom once to search across Europe looking for talent and that was under Maresca. That led to Fatawu (relatively unknown), Hermansen (Relatively unknown), Akgun (Linked with Dortmund now) and Mavididi (Good value in the championship).

That’s almost a 50% success rate out of the 9 signings we made, which for targets in the championship is impressive.

People need to realise scouts can only make recommendations hence why they move around so often as they feel unheard/ignored.

Most people don’t really know Rudkin let alone anything about what he does. They target him because recruitment hasn’t delivered success and at the moment they can’t bring themselves to target RVN.

I’m not saying Rudkin is or isn’t good at his job but I don’t think it is reasonable to single the bloke out for chants of personal abuse based on limited knowledge.

He's director of football hence he is in charge of football, which has largely been shite for four years. He determines the strategy, the ethos, the philosophy, the structure, the direction of the football operation, he chooses the manager, he's involved in transfer deals. He decides if a player fits the clubs direction and strategy. All these aspects are a complete failure. Anyone with half an ounce of self awareness and decency would probably do the right thing and quit.

I’ve not exactly defended Rudkin previously, but just been unsure of whether it’s him, or somebody else, who is ultimately responsible for our demise. I’ve finally lost patience after the summer transfer window that will effectively see us relegated this season.

We won the Premier League and FA Cup in recent history. We can still point to that, but every institution or business knows that you have to evolve, change, move with the times or die.

LCFC have now clearly been left behind by other, better run, clubs. We’ve seen clubs like Brighton, Brentford, Forest and Fulham surpass us - who were all nowhere just a few years ago.

We need evolution and change at executive level. If Top doesn’t know what to change then he should consider his own position as the figurehead of the club. We need a clear statement of a change of direction and a person or people need to go. If not Rudkin then who?

Am i right that the only staff Top has ever sacked are team managers?

That is just delusional and shows he has no vision or likely no desire to change things at boardroom level

Vichai sacked his predecessor after a poor transfer window after getting promoted the previous season.

I wouldn’t describe Winks as a squad player who isn’t playing right now. Candidates are Ward, Coady, Daka. Probably some Ive forgotten…
