Even in past games, it never shows their actual rating in the in game menus, just their base card rating with OVR, which I assume mean’t over 90. 
 

The only way to tell which actual card is being used is from the lineups screen before kick off, or if they score with a card.
 

I always thought this was a cheap coding shortcut so they don’t have to programme the actual card rating into the menu view.

 

@Ricey should be able to confirm if he is still with EA?

I can’t see any reason why both ratings can’t match. It could be a big.

Just the Spanish kid from Bayern so far. At least he'd be easy to get into my squad, being I've got 3 Bayern players already and a bunch of the Liga F players.
