Not because Maddison is shit, but because all you have to do is put 2 players on him, and his other CM pairing of Soumare and Ndidi will sit back and offer him absolutely nothing. Meh, covid didn't help, but what killed the club was a coaching team who turned top half players into championship fodder with world-class training facilities. Even if financially we had £0 to spend, the players we have are good enough to be mid table if they were not absolutely destroyed by coaching. 2
