Absolute pie in the sky thinking but I do wonder how many of these players will be willing to stick around.

Not everyone will actively seek a move, and it's probably in our best interests we have some players that do stick around to shoulder the responsibility to get back up - I'd willingly keep Iversen, Souttar, Pereira, Faes, Mendy, Kristiansen, Vardy, KDH, Daka.

Other players I cba with or you just know they're getting transfers because they're too good for the Championship (Vardy is as well but the sentimental part of me wants him to stay and piss off away crowds each week...). Maddison, Barnes, Iheanacho, Tielemans, Soyuncu, Ndidi all leave to be at better clubs. Vestergaard, Bertrand, Ward, Soumare, Amartey I'm happy to believe they don't exist.

I hope the youth players like Alves, Maswanhise, Madivadua, Brunt, Nelson, Hirst can step up? Maybe 1 or 2 of those prevent us from spending money on a first-team player. What's the situation with Opoku? Can he play for us or does work-permit prevent him from doing so?

He’s mortgaged the club to the eyeballs based on staying in the premier league

We have one of the lower end amounts of debt in the league now they've written off the best part of £200m KP debt.

I can see us having something like this before we sign anyone, I'd make Daka and Barnes stay and one of Ndidi or Soumare. So we'd need 2 x CBs, 2x wingers, a Striker, 2 x CM's as a minimum.

                              Iversen (Ward)

Ricardo (Justin)    Faes   Souttar   Kristiansen (Thomas)

                               Ndidi or Soumare

              KDH (Choudhury)            Braybrook

 Albrighton                                                                   Barnes

                                Daka (Vardy)

Having been educated yesterday that Percy wrote last month that the players who aren’t sold have a 35/50% salary reduction in their contracts, I’m fairly relaxed that we will retain a decent squad and should be good enough to bounce back. But the coach appointment is the vital part of this and we have to get that right.

I'm not so sure, we got outplayed and outfought by Blackburn and they didn't even make the playoffs.

That was under the  ‘don’t give a toss’ coach

i have said on a number of occasions that our choice of coach for next season is our biggest call

Ndidi is w*ank but he will fetch more than £5m!

I wouldn’t be so sure based on how bad he’s been this last 18 months.

I like Nacho but there's no way anyone is paying £25 million for him with a year left on his contract. Can't see anyone paying over £10 million for Castagne either.

Fair re Iheanacho. I think Castagne has enough suiters in Italy to get close to that.

Everyone worrying about the financial implications need to get a grip....worry about your own finances at this time...not a club who can afford to chuff £90 million up the wall.....I mean worst case scenario some sentimental idiot from America with billions of pounds who called us Lycester and has loved is ever since the 2016 win will come along and buy us as his new toy

Without a doubt. Burnley got that bit right, completely overhauled their squad for next to nothing, and won the division at a canter.

The problem is, I don't have much faith in us choosing the right coach...

Agree with most of this and reckon most of these could stay but there’s absolutely no chance of Barnes staying.
2 reasons - first he is going to be sought after and he’s one of only 2 real saleable assets we have which will cover most of the drop in money going to be received next year.

It's more important who the manager is next season.

It has to be Nigel Pearson for me. Shrewd operator, with Steve Walsh in.

I'm not buying the FFP , I really do believe its a cover up !

1-Surely when Rodgers said his piece after the forest defeat in the cup about a refresh/reset of the squad for the this season, Top would of already of known we had bugger all to spend, but he left until about 3 weeks before the season kicked off to tell us all .

2- How many clubs in the  premier league have actually had points docked ? I cant think of one. Yeah we would of got a fine and a possible  transfer embargo , but surely you'd take that over losing millions for going down.

3 At least 5 other clubs were in the same boat re FFP and they all spent !

Top has well and truly fvucked us over and only now is he beginning to realise the enormity of it all..... Lost 8/9 on the bounce beginning of the season , any other manager would of been fired !

Of course it was, I expect what is closer to the truth is he couldnt get the family to provide more cash flow, so we had a lock on expenditure.

We only spent in Jan after borrowing more money.  Further fuelling the cash flow diagnosis.

Next season the parachute money is already tied up, Fofana money tied up.

We basically need to fund wages with outgoing fee's and/or further cash injection.

I expect we looking at loanees and youth players getting promoted next season.

I think there is a moderate chance he tries to sell, but I think he would struggle to sell, as KP negotiate extremely hard, they would probably want a few hundred million for a championship club with no revenue for the upcoming season.

Agree - this is a board who thought rodgers was still doing a good job - it has been clear for 18mths that he was out of ideas.  Look at Cov - Robbins is showing how important it is to have the right manager.  Let's hire the celtic bloke just to show sutton who is the bigger club

Guys, suppose we are relegated but everton have broken the FFP...

They would never retroactively relegate Everton for it, if Everton are 3 points clear they get docked 2 points, if they 1 point clear they get fined.  Or maybe points docked next season.

His biggest failing has been his "blind" loyalty to Jon Rudkin who has proved to be over-promoted and out of his depth with our transfer dealings, player contracts and failings throughout the football club at all levels.

Rudkin has used OUR football club as a vehicle for his own egotistical ambitions....yet Top has failed to see or question this....and we are now seeing the results

Very true. As 'Director of Football' he is also 'Head of Performance'. Everything which falls under his influence (and responsibility) over the last two seasons have been a disaster-

Recruitment and contracts

Management and transition

Medical - Keeping players fit to play

and above all performance with both the mens team and the development squad (under 18's) to be relegated in the same season. If he has any moral compass (which I doubt) he would resign.

The Maddison money and a few fringe players would cover that mostly. I think it’s important to keep him as him and Daka I think could bag a huge amount. Whilst I appreciate a lot will take a punt on him, we’d struggle to replace the goals and assists he’ll provide and that’s why I’d force him to stay for a year.

Is it really? Aren't others saying that isn't the case?

According to Swiss Ramble we have 81 mill of external debt. Most of that will be owed to Macquarie bank for loans taken out against guaranteed TV money, although will also include the loans taken out against the Fofana sale money, which was due to be paid back soon when Chelsea made their next stage payments.

Oh don’t get me wrong I’d want to make him stay another year as well just can’t see it happening. I would have definitely made fofana stay as well and maybe we wouldn’t have been in this crap in the first place

The loan from Macquarie for the Fofana money was just over £46m - split over 2 payments that Chelsea still owed to be made in February 23 and August 23 - instead Chelsea will now just pay that straight to the bank

Leaving around £35m owed elsewhere
