Sadly your suggestion may be flawed... 😬

Re mavididis role in the goal I agree in part, however he was trying to make something happen. Perhaps he’d been watching us cross/pass to no-one from the bench and thought he’d try something different. A lot had to happen between him losing the ball and it hitting our net.

If he had curled it into the top corner for a 1-0 win there would be no criticism

He didn’t though because he is shit, it’s hilarious that people are thinking players with major limitations solve our problems. He’s been benched by 2 managers because largely he offers nothing, we need players that work, he’s not one.

He is one of the worst full backs at this level I have ever seen. He’s so one dimensional and limited. He works hard, but offers no quality whatsoever. I’d rather have Luke Thomas.

Blonde haired Alan Rogers.

I don't think it makes much difference tbh.  Neither are good enough defensively and neither offer much going forwards.  You aren't noticing a drop off when Thomas plays instead of VK.

Not up to the level we aspired to be at when we signed him. I still feel he has been our best defender this season. In fact probably then only one who wants to actually defend and not just stroll arrogantly out of the penalty box with the ball as though they think they're Franco Baresi

I just think people are looking for a scapegoat with him. Somewhere to vent our frustrations. I’d argue that there are 6-7 players in our team who are a greater concern..

Look at the goals being scored on us. For a good half of them, you'll see him near the scorer, usually behind.

Generally when goals are score, you will see defenders near the scorer. And the goal keeper.

if it’s defenders you want to look at, look  at Faes. His positioning has been awful all season long and is to blame for more goals than any other defender.

Only just seen the 2nd goal back and I'm completely confused at what he's doing (or not doing). How are people blaming Mavididi for that? lol Kristiansen simply isn't doing enough to stop the danger there.

Tbf he was knackered after making an overlapping run just before and being ignored. Then sprinted back initially and by the point of the cross coming in he was just hoping he wouldn't cross it.

Wasn't it his cross that hit Odegaard and then they broke from that?

For me he still had time and just needed to make that little bit more effort to make it difficult for them. He might as well have not bothered getting back in the first place.

Agree completely.
When I played amateur footy many years ago, I’d have still put that extra effort in no matter how knackered I was, knowing there was the possibility the ball might reach  the oppo.

For the positions he gets in, his output in terms of goals/assists is appalling. 0 goals and 1 assist (which was just a hoof up the pitch that Daka chased).

Ripped apart by Nwaneri and then just left Merino for the second goal. Bizarre positioning for that one and I can only assume he was knackered? Surprised MOTD didn’t pick up on it but their analysis didn’t even mention Leicester! 😂Personally I’d play Coulibaly on the right and JJ on the left. Ruud won’t drop VK though. He’s there until the bitter end along with our paceless wing pairing of BDCR and Ayew.

Agree with this.

I think fans are being overly-critical as he didn't do anything glaringly wrong (barring being out of position for the counter when we were stretched anyway).

As for some saying Thomas is better than him, I think that's purely reactionary. I'd rather have Kristiansen than Thomas all day long.

What if we could resurrect and bring back to life Alan Rogers? I think he’d have a fair shot of getting games over Kristiansen.

Rob Tanner has criticised him for both goals in The Athletic, and I agree with him. Never been good enough.

Not seen the article but I imagine the first was for not closing down the cross. I made this point to my brother a couple of weeks ago (immediately before we conceded from a cross) - we seem to let so many balls come into the box without making enough of an effort to stop them at source.

The second one was annoying as he clearly saw Merino and either didn’t believe Nwaneri would find him or he was too tired to get back in position.
