A lot of unhatched chickens being counted in this thread.

Football fans love nothing more than chasing chickens, but we have a fox that loves to cause doubt & chaos..

France and Spurs have Cockerills, but they just crow & make too much noise when it’s time to sleep..

Let’s think about points total in February/March. It’s a very long season.

No.

let's do it now.

I really don't like how much we're getting dragged in to this sort of arrogance after only a few games. Yes, we've looked largely a step above everyone we've player so far (including Southampton and Norwich) but pride comes before the fall etc and it's a long season.

We're only an injury to Winks or Hermansen away from having to completely refine our plan or face a considerable drop in performance.

I can't see the squad having the same complacency but still I don't think this is a great look on us as fans.

Assuming we don't pick up those injuries what do you reckon would be a fair expectation of this squad?

i was very negative coming into season after last season's rubbish. However I no think we can become the most second tier winners (level with Man City ATM)) As long as we don't lose anyone (Except Daka) in next transfer window

Obviously it would be extremely disappointing if this squad and manager didn't get automatic promotion after what they've demonstrated so far and I'm quietly confident we will be in or around the top two come May barring a disaster.

I dont have an objection to people acknowledging we're favourites.

But sitting here predicting 100pt hauls before we've played even half the teams in the league once? C'mon.

We need 76 points from 37 games. A shade over 2 points a game which you'd probably say should be about par if the squad remains relatively intact and we don't lose key players.

I really don't think that's too wild at this stage.

Working on the assumption that Enzo has an elite mindset and we don't lose bodies left and right, 100 seems a perfectly fair shout. Spending roughly 50-60 million a year on wages compared to most teams spending 5-15. It's a fair expectation as well.

Keeping the motivation up in the likely event a massive gap opens up between us and 3rd is our biggest danger.

Full prepared to come back to this thread in 7 months time either smug as hell or tail between my legs :D

I don't think either of those things is necessary.

I'm not telling you we will or won't get 100pts.

I'm saying discussing it in the first week of October hums of pride, arrogance and a lack of class and we should all maybe wind our necks in a bit and at least get to Christmas before making these sorts of predictions.

Feels like it's not really a prediction if you wait till half way through the season. All or nothing baby!

If we perform to the expected levels then that's what I'd be expecting. If there was another club in our position and they said they'd expect to average 2pts per game assuming no injury crisis, I'd be in agreement with them.

This is the best and most expensive team ever to be relegated. A few years ago we were competing for a CL place, we should be setting the record especially as we've landed a great manager. It's not really arrogant, most other fans would probably expect the same of us.

Surely Leicester fans should agree with this post

I mean, we have lost tens of millions worth of players since then and very few of the 19/20 and 20/21 squads are starting anymore tbf lol

This article here shows really how bitter some people can be - all the other teams have glowing reviews of what they achieved and ours....clearly a Forest fan writing it....

I was going to say it could be derby as they came to the KP that season thinking they were the footballing team and we’re going to turn us over before scuttling back home having been spanked.

Then I read it and it’s clearly a forest fan lol

Imagine so bitter about our promotion teams of 10-20 years ago.

I don't get the suggestions of arrogance. I've seen plenty of neutrals say it's there for us. So are we, the ones actually watching it weekly not allowed to think it?

I'm not saying it's a definite at all but I really don't think it's impossible at all. We have every circumstance near enough going in our favour.

Pride comes before a fall.  We don't know how circumstances may change. More injuries, suspensions and so on. Think of the reverse when we have been written off by pundits and other fans and surprised all.  I will be as pleased as anyone if we storm to the title but still early in the season

Can tell it's a Forest fan because of how thick it comes across. No idea what they're on about with the 'outstanding' £18.1m. Firstly, the loss we made has no relation to the fine paid and, more crucially, 21 less 3.1 does not equal 18.1 lol.
