Nah early in that calender year the previous season. We lost 1-0.

Their fans still talk about it as one of their all time top away ends. Bojan sent them flying down the steps

Another end full of day trippers no doubt. Didn't they bring about half that the last time in the Prem?

Really are the big day out for the division aren't we.

A couple times they filled it, a couple times they haven't.

But we are a big day out, always gonna be. Look from an away day point of view. I'm always excited to go to new grounds, or grounds I haven't visited in years, and that's exactly what we now are for a lot of the division.

Bristol City surprised me bringing the numbers they did. I can’t remember them bringing that many before? But they were quiet and their “library” chants were very ironic.

Stoke will surely bring a decent following next, but Sunderland will no doubt be the best even in mid week.

fairly sure they brought a huge load in the FA Cup in 2003 when they were in the 3rd tier. remember the Hind, Wyvern and Barley Mo all being absolutely rammed with their fans before the game, was winter and they were spilling out drinking outside due to the numbers and the Ale Wagon had even locked their doors because so many were about.

Our ticket office seems to want to fill the away end at the KP with 3000 plus away fans yet don't want our own supporters travelling away with their draconian attitude of no general sale, particularly for the games that we don't sell out our away allocation, always been the same.

Why sell to a LCFC supporting kid for £15 when you can sell to an away supporter for £35!

It's mental.

I know someone (happens to be a Derby fan) who's taking a few German lads he met on a city break to the game tomorrow and they're in the away end because it was easier to get tickets. They wanted to see City play whilst they were over and should be in the home end but we're making it difficult for no justified reason.

Surely if we won't let our own fans in for general sale then we shouldn't let the visiting fans sell them.

Jeez you're talking 20 years ago. That would have been their first visit to the ground anyway.

There's a good video of it on youtube. I wonder if they'll get near to that tomorrow. They haven't since.

Unpopular opinion, but self-harming policies like this are why we will never become a "big" club. For example, I genuinely think policymakers at LCFC are fearing the stadium expansion because it would mean supply increases (seats) further to come closer to the high demand (our fans), thus there will be less of a monopoly for ST holders and members on seats. The former and latter both being dominated by certain demographics that contribute to the lack of atmosphere, while the stadium expansion will give rise to a more energised rejuvenated audience who don't have a long billing history or any for that matter, with the club.

Whats ironic is, King Power will lose much more revenue in the long run with the current state of its ticketing and infrastructure. Top Khun and his family are great and intelligent people, but the Srivaddhanaprabha family have delegated too many aspects of the club to senior employees who don't really seem all that competent.

Looking at the Sunderland forum they seem to have sold out. Not a surprise, even for midweek, they are one of the best supported clubs in the Country.

Looking forward to the annual parade of Stone Island/replica shirt combos in the city centre. Was worried we'd lose that now we're no longer in the same division as Newcastle.

Those that think our away support is good

Who thinks this?

I rate Sunderland's support but I will have to see it when I believe it with a lot of these ends here. Often get big numbers and little noise. I'm not saying that we aren't regularly guilty of this too.

Anybody know if Ipswich have sold out their allocation? I couldn't see anything on their forum.

I'm guessing they have.

Sold out, interesting to see their bands too

Clubs are different. I am aware Chelsea reset their points every season so perhaps Ipswich do the same.

How many were they given? Looks like they have a sensible priority system compared to ours.
