Goal and an assist for Monga today

Get him in the first team along with Evans & I’m sure there’s a few more that can play better than what we have at present !!

bitter sweet that, as we'll never ever see him starting in the first team for us

Because Ruud is too FUCHING stubborn to play him & Evans yet his statements from when he signed he said he liked to promote the young up and coming talents into the first team, well that was total Bull 💩from him ?

I remember that last season at Filbert Street, where on the pitch things were every bit as bad as they are now.

At about this stage of the season a whole host of players were brought into the first team and it was exciting and gave us some joy towards the end of the season, from memory (So could be wrong) but Piper, Heath, Ashton, Stevenson, Reeves and young Tommy Wright… I think there were a few others too

But it was fresh, we knew we were down but watching Piper run with the ball and some of the others get stuck in and give there all. Jon Ashton, I remember thinking looked alright.
I think that’s what we need now, just throw some in, there’s no pressure and they can’t do any worse than what we’re seeing now.

Defending at 18's and 21's seems atrocious across both leagues , most games are high scoring

Is that more to do with coaches being development driven rather than results driven, allowing players to flourish and attack, and play their football rather than having teams who sit back and keep it tight playing for the 0-0 or sitting I trying to nick a goal on the break.

When you see clips of Monga he moves like he’s about 25 let alone 15. Think that’s a sign of what sort of talent he is.

Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever see him play for the senior team.

And yet he could be in our next match.  All it takes is for him to be selected.  How frustrating to know what a talent is being ignored.

What are the rules about picking a 15-year-old? I know he can be in a squad and can play but are there restrictions on playing time and also minutes played within a certain period of time? Also mustn't there be the provision to have him change in a separate changing room? Can this provision be provided at any ground or are there some grounds where this can't happen?

Plus there's the duty of care to think of when playing against fully-grown men. One crunching tackle from a Milenkovic, Maguire or Ruben Dias and he's toast. He looks ready ability-wise - and I really want to see him put some of our waste-of-space first-teamers to shame - but there are other matters that affect whether he can play or not, and for how long.

Which is why you generally see a 15 y o in a meaningless game or when a game is done.   Rooney was released into the game at 16 but he really was a physical specimen and mentally very tough.   I have no idea re monga’s mental approach and how he would react to being cleared out in a 50/50 with someone way stronger than him.  Given how he looks, he wouldn’t have come across many players who are.
the 30 y o tanks that lumber around the league would be something different.

There is no evidence to suggest he is being Ignored. He's 15. He's playing in elder age groups and achieving all the time. There is a lot of hype about him, and he is certainly delivering. But the leap up to PL is a jump that's not been asked of him yet, both physically and mentally.

When you consider his achievements so far, would you think it would have been better for him sat on the bench and getting a few minutes in a team that are on its arse? I'd love to see him play in the 1st team too, but i also have to be realistic how / when that is likely to happen and everybody should be doing what is best for his development, and not satisfying our curiosity.  We've seen established players in foreign leagues take a season to adapt the physical demands of PL football.

Also, from the rumours, it's unlikely his first team debut won't be in a Leicester blue shirt anyway, so if there are discussions going on the behind the scenes and the club know his future here is limited no matter what, then maybe politically they won't push him into the 1st team.

Was completely unfazed in the Papa John's or whatever its called. Was skinning players left, right and centre. Was closer to 14 then as well, quite staggering. He looks like he's going to play 1st team football very early. He'll be in next season if he stays here and elsewhere probably on the fringes in the PL.

If we have him in the squad and he comes on even for 5 mins against Chelsea or Man Utd, how much does it actually increase his value?

Given his age, does it go to tribunals still if he is to move? How much of a say do we have in that tribunal?

What he's doing for England U16s will add significant value on to any compensation fee not to mention domestically.

It would go to tribunal if we do not agree with the fee offered, like with Liverpool for Nyoni

https://www.leathesprior.co.uk/news/compensation-for-players-under-24-a-mystery

PFCC hearings require each club to provide evidence to support their valuation of the player in question. In making its judgment the committee will take into account the costs of both clubs in operating a Football Academy or Centre of Excellence, as well as the age and playing record of the player, the length of time he was registered with his original club, the terms offered by both clubs, the status of the two clubs, the substantiated interest shown by other clubs in acquiring the registration of the player and any amounts paid by the original club to acquire the player in the first place.

In deciding on a compensation figure, it is not uncommon for the PFCC to set fees that build as the player becomes more established at first team level.   It has now become quite usual for clubs to receive a basic compensation fee with further payments becoming due on the player’s debut, following a certain numbers of first-team appearances and after international appearances. It is also usual for there to be a sell-on fee should the player be sold at a profit at any point in the future.

I wonder how closely we keep tabs on the talents that do get taken away early.

Obviously Nyoni has a pathway at Liverpool. But someone like Noubissie, for example. I know he was just in the same England U16 squad as Monga but it would be interesting if we made it known that we were continuing to follow his development at Man City. He may be tearing it up, I don't know.

I say this based on Tyler Dibling. He left Southampton for Chelsea and returned because he didn't settle there. It happens at first-team level so there's no reason why it wouldn't happen at youth level too. Now he's suddenly Southampton's best player and is being linked with big moves again.

And if there's a youth player whose big move doesn't work out, where else is better to get back to a good level than the club where you earned the big move in the first place?

So, if we do start to regularly have talents pinched from us, I do wonder if it's part of the strategy to keep tabs and swoop in if things start looking less rosy for them at their new clubs :dunno:

Good to see Evans back fit. Shame Tommy Neale hasn't made the last two squads after his recent dominance.

I’m guessing we deleted his contact details in a fit of pique !
