I would play him now instead of buonnnotte. Nothing against Facundo but monga looks very tidy and facundo unlikely to stay.

Unlikely ?

we won’t want him back and he wouldn’t want to be in the champ in any case (his decision making has fallen through the floor - another player with zero confidence. Monga the opposite.

What exactly were you expecting him to do?

I wasn’t really expecting a lot from a 15 year old. It was folk on here as usual getting carried away. He had a few nice touches, nothing more but did much less that Mavadidi.

it’s not a dig, it’s what happened. He will have a good future but let’s not be all OTT about things.

Going to be a very good player in three or four years time. Needs bring on slowly

All he has to do is be the same or better than Ayew, Reid, Bouanaotte, Daka etc. A few nice touches is an improvement on what we already have.

Anyone expecting him to come on and provide miracles is desperate. The whole call for him to play is just desperation in my opinion. I hope he can remain a positive player in this environment.

One hasn't completed his GSCE's

The other has played 200 games as a professional at 26.

No one is expecting him to provide miracles. They just want a little glimmer of excitement to take the edge of the absolute misery of following us at the moment and a 15 year old getting minutes provides that. I would be getting more of the young lads on.

You thought mavs did anything in 50 mins?

Monga was up against current england squad full back. Mavs against a former one.  didn’t see much between them tbh

No one's expecting him to come in and provide miracles ffs. Why are the standards for young academy players so much higher than our 'seasoned pros'?

All he has to do is come in and play at the same or lower level than Ayew and Reid have been allowed to play at all season. The standards should be lower for young players, i have more tolerance watching them put in a below Premier league level performance than our highly paid so called 30 yr old veterans.

Face this, there was a reason Newcastle started doubling up on him. Take that as a compliment bevause it certainly means opposition know him

Were they doubling up on him or on Ricky? Ricky was playing very high up.

There was a moment notably towards the end where they were. Ricky went inverted a lot

They weren’t though.

Opta analyst agrees with me

Monga, a winger, had two goals and two assists in eight Premier League 2 appearances for Leicester U21s in 2024-25, and was unable to make much impact against Newcastle given any chance of getting something from the game for the hosts had already long gone. Monga had 10 touches in his short time on the field as Leicester suffered another demoralising loss.

But I get it, in a wretched season people are going to be looking for any positive and jumping in on it.

Jeez, my post wasn't really meant to be an criticism of him in any way. It was more pointing out that its a sign of where we are that we desperate for a 15 year old to be involved.

Still subjective. Haven’t trusted Opta since it’s supercomputer had us at 90% plus for CL qualification 🤣🤣🤣
