DezFox Posted 2 February Posted 2 February Who do we need in January……. It just doesn’t matter anymore
Ric Flair Posted 2 February Posted 2 February Genuinely reckon Plymouth have done better business than we have and they're bottom of the Championship. 2
Fox 4 Life Posted 2 February Posted 2 February We've clearly decided we are down so let's not spend and focus on next season. Joke of a club.
-sodapop Posted 2 February Posted 2 February It's too late even if we get 3 people through the door now. Played 5 games since the window opened and got 3 points from a team that couldn't even field a full bench. Needed bodies in for Everton and Palace if we were actually planning on trying to stay up. Anything now is just to wave off criticism of not backing the manager. 4
surrifox Posted 2 February Posted 2 February We should try to ensure the likes of Coady Vestergaard Faes et al don’t get selected for any more games this season . All we’re doing is reminding possible buyers how shite they are

Probably tells you we don't have that much head room as you think. We will not recover until we have both, the 21/22 of the 22/23 loses drop off. but by that point we'll be back at 61m allowable losses because we'll be a championship also-ran
coolhandfox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Just now, The Doctor said: but by that point we'll be back at 61m allowable losses because we'll be a championship also-ran We will still be in a better position. When we went down last time our combined loss for T-1 and T-2 where -170m (- around 35 million for allow loses) T-1 and T-2 will be less than -100m this time around. (- around 35 million for allow loses) So yes we will have less headroom but will have massively fewer losses to account for.

The issue with PSR isn't just that we've got those losses to account for, it's that we've then not got headroom to spend without breaching.

The losses that drop off are triple that! Add to that all of the relegated clubs will be in the same boat and they will all still have more budget than the other Championship clubs. Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 3 February Popular Post Posted 3 February The laughable thing about the last few days. Could have raised £5m on Thomas, got a decent loan move with potential £10m for McAteer and replaced both with Marcelo Morales on a free who's a young Chilean left back and Marcus Edwards on similar loan/obligation terms as the McAteer deal. It really isn't this fcukin difficult. 6

gurru991 Posted 3 February Posted 3 February What we need is a competent DOF .. Top and his bum buddy are a disgrace to this club.

I know he hasn't been used that much for Sporting this season, but he was ripping it up the other season. Surely he can't have dropped off enough not to get a PL move? Should've been a no-brainer for a team like us.
-sodapop Posted 4 February Posted 4 February Hertha are absolutely 100% going to need to sell this summer as they have a big loan coming due this year. Fabian Reese and Ibrahim Maza should both be on our radar for this summer.

Nobody is considering that the player may have preferred to play for a side at the right end of the division potentially looking forward to a new season in the Premier League, rather than join a shitshow, losing most weeks and then ending up back in the championship licking their wounds.

It's a fair point. It's also a risk to go into the second tier. If Parker doesn't fancy him for whatever reason, then he's failed to get into a Championship side which, you could argue, could be more detrimental for his reputation than failing to turn around a club that is currently a car crash on multiple fronts.
Muzzy_no7 Posted 5 February Posted 5 February Can’t get over us turning down in excess of 10-12m combined for Thomas and Kasey. Absolutely unreal. 1

We'll probably need them next season in the Championship as well so I think it makes perfect sense. We were never had time to get in replacements either....takes us weeks to buy a player

You'd evidently not want to lose either for that fee but at the same time probably wouldn't get higher either. Raising £10-15m profit on fringe players is exactly what we should capitalise on when it's presented. 4
JimJams Posted 5 February Posted 5 February Yeah, there's worry about Seagrave and losing the likes of Nyoni and Monga, but when we're actually offered bags for the ones who don't make it, for our level at least, you should snap their hands, arms whatever body part is on offer to make bank. I think I'm more disappointed in the sales we haven't made than the non existent transfers in in this window.

McAteer did OK in a position that Enzo sets his system up deliberately for the wingers to flourish. He’s also not good enough in the Championship/PL long term.

Well they suit us fine then because we are also not good enough for the championship/PL long term either
