I see no harm in giving him a transfer window and 10 games in the Championship. If it starts going south early doors you get Dyche in.

You can't compare his Premier League record to Will Still and Danny Rohl because they've never competed in the Premier League.

No it’s not like they’ve lost 17 out of 19 games and not scored in 9 consecutive homes in the premiership……..

You can’t beat that sort of experience.

Cooper was buying dinosaurs and not very good ones, Ruud at least plays the youth and isn’t fixated on one style of play

What is Ruud’s style of play?

He doesn’t have one.

He actually applauded the moment Jamie smashed his record when it came up on the screen.

I’m not sure he was backed on January. The losing without scoring run is a huge blotch on our record regardless, so it’s an interesting one. Can he genuinely do something here?

Great idea! Give him 10 games of more crap then we are stuck with his signings for 2/3 years on daft contracts just like we are stuck with Coopers terrible signings.

You have no idea what players Ruud would sign, he hasn't had a window.

By playing youth you mean giving one or two 10 minutes now and again at the end of games? And RvN has regularly shown he has no style of play. He'd prob do ok in the Championship cos it's such a poor league but if by some miracle he actually got us promoted he's proven beyond any doubt that he wouldn't keep us up. He is garbage and he has got to go. A couple of million spent now getting rid of him is far more useful long term than giving it to Martin Glover to waste on another donkey.

He combines attacking intent with defensive discipline but he’s not really had the players or time to make it work but there are signs, we can’t keep sacking managers every 6 months

Maybe he just needs more time it’s that simple you can’t polish a turd in 2 months and by that I mean him having King and Murphy helping him

I'm not keen on the idea of keeping RVN for a run next season. I worry that a few heads will be turned by beating the bottom 2 clubs at home. Today Ipswich were on top before Vardy scored so who will save the manager next season? All this "changing the narrative" building for the future didn't fit with the starting line up either. It is one thing performing when the pressure is off but it is easy to forget key games against other struggling sides such as Wolves Everton etc that really cost the team this season

Well if signing players is like all his other managerial abilities theyl be sodding useless! And it's Glover as much as rvn who finds the players and he's had several windows and mostly signed trash.

The same attacking intent that saw us not score at home in nine consecutive games?

How about get a manager who can set up clear patterns of play, improves a team defensively - both things that Ruud hasn’t done.

Then we wouldn’t “keep sacking managers every 6 months.”

No I don’t, but it’s highly unlikely a new manager is going to like what he signs, managers tend to want to get their  own players in.

You need to give your head a wobble if you want Ruud here at the start of next season.

I actually said that today at the match, we don’t have a style of play.

Some times things take time to work out he’s hardly had a pre season to put a clear way of playing and the players have not been fit all down to cooper and the players mentality

I sympathise with the view that we've comfortably beaten the two sides who will most likely be among our biggest competitors next season, but it's such a short-termist view.

Firstly, Ipswich and Southampton won't be alone in challenging us. Coventry have turned into a team who are regularly there or thereabouts, Birmingham will give it a go after breaking records in League One and whoever loses the play-off final will be dangerous too. We'll be there or thereabouts ourselves, but I think we'll need a tactical edge and nous in the transfer market.

We have no idea if he has the latter as he had no money to spend, but we can be pretty confident he doesn't have the former.

And then, if we do get promoted at the first time of asking again, what then? He's not up to it at Premier League level, which means we either do what Leeds what rumoured to be considering and sack a promotion-winning boss or keep him and hope. We need to short-term chop and change the manager with a view to avoiding it long-term.

If all of that is the case, why do other new managers not match/break such hideous records?

I don’t think either of us are going to budge on our opinion though mate.

King and Murphy have been here a while now what actual improvements have they brought? We're still shite and you'd back any semi competent PL team to beat us comfortably.  Cooper had little more than 2 months to polish this turd yet there's no way you'd advocate giving him longer. The stench of this season needs washing away and getting rid of one of the worst managers in Premier league history is as good a place to start as any.

He has been thrown in at the deep end and yea will have to agree to disagree, I just can't see the board not giving him more time that's the thing.

The problem is the club won't get rid so you will have to deal with it I think.

Why, they'll be challenging at the top of the Championship next season.

It really doesn't make any difference who the manager is, the gulf between the bottom of PL / top of championship is huge.

I would keep him and use the money we would waste in compensation on players.

Its not about the manager it's about the strength of the first team.

We will be a big fish in a small pond, like last time when a novice manager won us the championship.

Why?

We lost 7 league games in a row under him, then another 8 league games in a row under him.

Didn’t score at home in which felt like an eternity.

Shit squad selections, how he didn’t realise we needed more pace in the team during those losing runs was baffling.

If he stays, a section of fans would no doubt give him a chance, but a good chunk of the fanbase would also feel incredibly dejected going into the new season.
