If we go down, I can't imagine there'll be to many players who want to stick around this time. Just my opinion, you'd expect Vestergaard, Faes, Kristianson will want to play higher ready for the world cup, Soumare would want out again, Ndidi in fairness is better than the championship, Winks in his final year, Coady clearly wants to be a pundit.

 

The only 4 I see as guarantees are Fatawa because he'd be a huge risk, Ayew and Bobby Reid at the end of their career on high wages and Skipp because nobody will want to pay what we want.

I know we all fear a pending points deduction and potential transfer embargo but so sick of seeing those names trot out on OTT wages bottle 50/50’s, point and moan at others when they played a part in the 5hit show defending.

 

Drain the swamp after last season all we did was move on the sellable assets and kept the undesirables quite frankly.

So with the draining and what we'll be left with, what would the squad look like? I get your point and I agree, but I worry we wouldn't have a squad, especially if the embargo sticks.

I was potentially being flippant but the reality is we won’t have the luxury of draining the swamp as the majority won’t have offers that match our silly wages.

 

However, resetting our wage structure, going back to the buy young and sell at a profit model is definitely the sensible approach which we know with our current board it won’t happen.

That's fairly irrelevant, as always it's about PSR and we make £4.5m + save half a seasons wages. So all in all that's about £5.5m in the positive column which is the equivalent of a £15-20m signing over 5 years if we're looking to replace this financial year.

Our midfield options are so poor - Winks, Skipp, Soumare,  Ndidi, and Choudhury.

 

5 Championship level midfields, one of which is permanently crocked, and Choudhury is never going to make it in the PL.

 

Its this area of the pitch which is causing all of our problems.

If we get anything in, it’ll be bottom of the barrel late on deadline day. It’s just what we do in January, even when we didn’t hamstring ourselves on the ability to bring in players.

What's quite worrying is a few of these are relatively new signings too. This place just seems to infect anybody.

Soumare isn't good. I can't believe people have fallen for it again. Despite the fact we lose every week.

 

He's not been the ultimate problem in that side, there are bigger offenders, but he isn't good.
