Have moved around the country a few times since starting work.  Round trip has varied from 90 to 250 miles, when we lived up North.  Currently only a round trip of 130 miles or so.

Always mixed the driving up with catching the train whenever practical, and a few beers with old m8's.   Also used to double up day trips to see the family in Leicester, so it wasn't always just pure football.

As a few others have said ... the worst thing is night time road closures, especially after a lovely 0-3 home defeat to some anonymous rubbish.  And when you're up at 05.30 for work the following morning.

The enthusiasm has been waning a bit the last few years, but that might just be age.   Plenty of things to annoy you, but I still enjoy the day out, meeting up with friends for a few beers, the odd shout and sing-along, and occasionally even the odd good match (which does remind you why we do it in the first place).

When all's said and done, supporting the City has given me the best days of my life (football, m8's, beer, travel, laughs).  I wouldn't change it for anything.

Thurnby.

Terrible journey!

Seriously though Kudos to some of you who travel from all over the place.

Proper respect:appl:

Said this to you before, I can't prove it for sure but I think we probably have the highest % of drivers to games. Especially for away games as we're quite central and trains are often crap for us.

This is probably why West Ham has almost sold out despite the wide variety of factors making it shit.

London aways more accessible for a lot of our match going fans than home games.

I'm amazed at some of the journeys you're all doing. But, I probably shouldn't be as, in our group of friends we have 2 from Chester, and then Manchester, Reading and Oxford. There's only 3 of us from Leicestershire.

If you travel long distances, how long before the game do you arrive? Do you make a day of it or is it literally a 2.30-4.55 job?

I normally set off about three and a half hours before kick off. Parked up (hopefully) and hour and half before kick off, quick drink/something to eat and then to the ground.

West Ham is probably the easiest game to get tickets for; basically a banker for me. It's probably quicker for me to get there being down in Canterbury than it was when I was in London. Shame it took me about 2 hours to get on the tube last time whilst being crowded in with 1000's of West Ham fans, after we'd lost.

So it's probably also because of it's one of those games where fans that might not have a chance to go to many games actually have a chance of getting tickets.

Leamington for me now, worst part of driving to games is not being able to drink.

I come from rugby. M1, fosse park, Middleton st then Aylestone Road .  Its strange that its often quicker than when i lived in Thurmaston and got the bus into town then walked to the ground

Wimbledon for me. Although hopefully Sheffield next year.

A home game is normally the best part of a day.

I understand why people are thinking about knocking it in the head. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love it. Especially after days like today.

Wimbledon to Sheffield? That'll be a bit of come down lol

I travel from North Norfolk a round trip of over 200 miles, that’s the easy part, but the most frustrating part is leaving the clubs official car parks, that can take over an hour through the congested streets

STH driving from Winchester - a 270 mile round trip.  I still get a buzz from the football and meeting up with people, but I pick and choose matches more than I used to and by May I'm ready for a break.   Looking forward to Everton away next week, although that is 450 miles and so a one-off.

You dont surprise me with the club car park . I have a little spot i use to park and get away reasonably quickly which i won't disclose on here or it wont be my spot next game 😂

Fair play on the distance you travel 👍.

Fair play, I hate the drive to your part of the world. Done it both from Leicester and Sheffield.

Get north Norfolk digital mid morning matters on the radio.  What's the matter with you 😂

North Somerset coast for us. 270 mile round trip. Not great driving home in the fog after the recent Palace match. I wouldn't do it without the encouragement from my son. Usually get home about 8:30pm after a 3 o'clock kick off. Worst bit is getting out of Leicester via Fosse Park M69/M1 junction. Never used to be that bad.

Round trip of over 200 miles as a season ticket holder in Greater Manchester - been doing this for over 10 years now but am really losing the motivation for it this season. It takes up the entire Saturday

We are originally from Leicester but travel to home games from Bingley West Yorkshire and have been doing so for  10 years - 220 miles round trip

Always allow an extra hour for hold ups on M1 south so leave 5 hours before kickoff. Generally park up in Highcross, grab a club sandwich at Holiday Inn Nicholas Circle beforehand.
Now in my 70s so staying overnight  more often

Know times are hard at LCFC but keep coming because of winning the premiership and FA cup which got tickets to- memories never to be forgotten and never thought would see it in our lifetime. Leicester till we die. Blue blood in our veins

Fair play to all these fans travelling a long way. Just wish the team would read this thread and realise the commitment of the fans. Not really sure they give a toss.

Bedford.

Tempted to forget it about it for next season.

Was going to make more regular trips down to Bedford Town but even they may be merging so who the fvck knows lol

Same as you mate 👍

ST for 15 years but had one before that until my children arrived , then it was difficult to go to Leicester all day leaving them with mum , after being at work all week😄

Always thought I travelled a distance but fair play to all those that really do travel a long way👏👏👏

Like you, I've become disillusioned with Leicester and footy in general,  so I might go a bit more local from next year, but I've been saying that for a few years now😄

Bedford,  soon to be Real Bedford have got a lot going for them tbh, with the Bitcoin wealth behind them

It worries me though how long that'll last, and how much will it actually do for the town...
