Cardiff down to 10 men now. Looks like he’s moved up front?

Playing as a second striker/AM on the left now, getting involved in the press/block when Plymouth have the ball rather than staying up top as an outlet

And Cardiff have conceded as I type that

This is all good “money in the bank” for Will. The 10 men situation, changing positions, coming off the bench, starting games, still plenty more to come too. When approving a loan, matching the right club to the player is crucial, it seems Cardiff are a good fit, not desperate enough to gift him a  key role from day 1 but letting him earn his place against his competition and keep it if he impresses. It seems like he’ll be getting plenty of football between now and the end of the season and as we know the Championship throws up opponents of all different shapes and sizes, he left us a boy and will return as a man.

He already looks bigger , hopefully he kicks on and plays a big part in our future

Interesting that Cardiff have played him RW, always thought he was a LW. Him and Fatawu could be devastating next season on either wing!

He’s played both so far for them. When he came on at Portsmouth he was on the left. Last 2 games he’s started v Bristol City on the left then was moved to the right, yesterday he started on the right.

He looks more natural on the left for me.

He’s that good he can play, left, right or centrally. Just a shame he’s not had the opportunities at his home town club yet. We’ll probably get to see him for one season in the championship before he gets poached by a club that we should not be selling our best players to. A club like Palace, Brentford or dirty Leeds.

"Will Alves took a whack on his knee against Plymouth and it swelled up. We’re managing that and hopefully that’s not too serious"

Hopefully back next match, these kind of knocks are good test for his knee in all honesty
