How do you know this?  I’m not disputing it, I’m just genuinely curious about the sources of information.

Do the maths.

We have no income other than EFL money and ticket money and betting sponsorship money and a few exec boxes  next season..

What else pays for the 40 odd million running costs?

The only problem if we go down we more likely go burst,so yeah there is alot to worry about,i dont know how some people are so calm about it,its like 95% of our fans live in lala land.

I want us to stay up, i wanted us promoted, but reality currently is league 1 is looking 50 50. I think we have enough, and will beat bristol and qpr and drag other teams into this. Time will tell.

But presumably almost all the half decent players (who cost the most money) will leave, so the wage bill will go down.

Correct, wage bill if we are prudent, will drop from around 50m to 25m..and that's being generous. Then, roughly, running costs of around 20m

And do we keep our championship parachute payments for another 2 years?

Nope,.we've spent them. The payments bypass us and go direct to Macquarie..

But presumably only if Macquarie ask for the loan to be repaid ?

Macquirie haven't given us a loan. They have advanced us money we are guaranteed to receive. It's different..It's invoice finance aka factoring.

We’ve only got one more year of parachute payments - and as already pointed out - it goes straight to the Aussie bank.

It’s essentially a loan though isn’t it.  And surely it would be in Macquarie’s best interests to give us longer to pay them back, in the hope we got promoted again, rather than watch us go into administration and potentially not get the full amount back?

Sorry mate, you are misunderstanding..

Macquirie don't give a shit if we can pay it back or not.

THEY GET THE PARACHUTE MONEY..

We don't. The PL PAY MACQUIRIE. NOT US. We sold it..

I'm thinking about the same ........Auditors come in and see the money we are spending is not coming in(Administration). Then the Administrators decide that we can't service the debt'which puts us into Liquadation......and that's the way things work! I'd be happy if we have a Leicester City to support in a couple of years

We are down. Can't keep a clean sheet and Can't score enough to win. Oxford U now picking up points everywhere. No way three teams finish below us. We are like a beached whale

The irony is I don't think we have much debt. If any.

What we are about to see - in the coming months - is a business running out of money. And unable to function.

We are terrible but surely we can beat Preston....on the beach and terrible....yes I am still seeing my therapist

Them and Stoke = very similar. Both started well and both gone to pot. We failed to take advantage against Stoke.

I have no faith whatsoever we'll beat Preston. None.

Our inability to put away the sh!t in this league this season is remarkable, we'll turn up against Ipswich tomorrow, might even get a point, then we'll be diabolical against some of the bottom half muck.

Pretty much sums up the mentality of the squad. PL wages, believe they should be in the PL but put in national league performances every week. Utterly disgusting group of players!

They'll put us away comfortably

We have had 11 league games going back to Sheffield United on New Year’s Day.

1 win in that time (10 games ago) and we have conceded 2 (or more in the case of Southampton) in 8 of those 11 games and 1 in the other 3.

How are we possibly going to pick up results? We’re done…

We're going down with Sheff Wed and West Brom.

Our defence is even worse without Faes, who's winning away to PSG and Vestergaard injury.

2 things:

in relation to wage budget / bill and the rest of the league compared to us, is this the equivalent of Man City being relegated from the PL?

also, has the team with the biggest budget and wage bill ever been relegated from the championship? Surely not?

this is a generational fall

Not sure if Bolton did similar.

It will be sold to Forest. The ultimate indignity inflicted upon us by King Power.

I've wondered that, but even that is unlikely. Forest will look at us, look at the 20m running costs and work out, 'but what if we ever ever relegated too?'

The place is a millstone round the neck
