Why? They’re probably not going up this season. Why would it be impossible to get him?

Why would he swap one car crash for another, he is settled and definitely has got them in an upward trajectory although it has taken time.

When Ruud says this it's baffling you don't do that publicy.

They are ahead of us with their squad. It was too difficult for us to compete with them."

We are facing teams like Brentford if not better in the coming weeks.

He has thrown the towel in, just like his overpaid players.

I thought the same. If we can’t compete with Brentford at home, then we might as well ask to be relegated now. What a sad state of affairs.

It's such a fallacy that Dyche has to play his style because of the budgets he has worked under. At Burnley Kompany got them playing Pep-style football almost instantly and Moyes has got Everton scoring and looking dangerous going forward.

It's not a straight choice between Pep/Maresca possession football and Sean Dyche deep, defensive set piece football. There is plenty of nuance in between and it's within that nuance that lives styles of player that may suit us in the Championship AND the Premier League if we go back up.

Very well said, and true. Of course the problem is that the most achievable middle ground that can "suit us in the Championship AND the Premier League if we go back up", as you say, is drum-tight defending and quick counterattacking - and our squad could hardly be more ill-suited for it. If we get a young manager who can implement that style it's going to mean a complete squad turnover (even bigger than what we're already facing). And thus, probably at least one season of struggling even in the Championship. It'd be worth it in the long run but that's a hard sell for owners and execs who think waiting one minute for the shampoo to work is too long.

Why do we have to be a counter attack side, which can also be pretty honking to watch.

Why can’t we be a procession side who moves the ball forward quickly with pace and movement, instead of everything being so slow. Get some could defenders who can actually defend, decent wingers and midfielders that aren’t completely anonymous. We seem to have had anonymous midfielders since King left, we don’t get goals from any other area of the pitch.

Mostly I just want to see some effort

Agree with you but that's not really what I'm saying. What I am saying is that what Dyche has achieved has been done despite financial constraints, inferior players and generally working with one hand tied behind his back. Who knows what he'd be like if he had a few quid to spare. The Pep comment is just a personal one. I get to almost the away games and travel back thinking thank fck for that bottle of wine.

That's a myth. He's spent big money on players and his record is very patchy. Wieghorst famously but Gibson and Brady are particular stand outs.

The transformation of Everton under Moyes (who isn't himself exactly renowned for playing attractive football) is very damning on Dyche. Everton were awful under Dyche - tactically predictable and plodding, characterized by ageing workhorses and a complete lack of flair or attacking intent. His tactics have become obsolete in the modern game and he hasn't adapted. Under Dyche, Ayew and BDCR would 100% be getting in the side ahead of Buonanotte and Mavididi and the football would be turgid beyond belief. Haven't we suffered enough in recent times without picking a manager who would make it even worse?

Dyche spent £25m on Beto, couldn't get a tune of him and look what's happened there recently.

Sheffield Wednesday don't have Seagrave, or can offer a pay packet probably triple his ages, throw in it's a bigger shop window for himself as well.

He won't leave at this stage of the season and we aren't going to offer compensation required..

Guess it depends on how bad the impact from relegation will be, including a transfer embargo.

If it is as bad as an embargo, then you'd have expected the club to have acted by now and brought in a new manager as they can't afford to go down.

But if we don't expect an embargo and can use relegation to offload our higher earners while bringing through youth, then makes sense to wait and rebuild the club with a longer-term appointee.

Given the lack of proactivity from the board, wouldn't surprise me if it was the nightmare scenario of lack of action to keep us up while knowing we're going to get hammered by the EFL next season.

Should have been shown the door on that comment alone. Set up properly we compete much more eg don't  defend half a mile up the pitch and let them keep popping diagonal balls over our heads.

I don't think anybody is expecting him to leave at this stage of the season. He might be more approachable in the summer, however.

Southampton will probably get him.

That would be sickening.

I wouldn't see it as sickening to be honest. He worked there for a couple of years previously, I was amazed they didn't get him after Martin tbh.

Speak for yourself. If Southampton get Rohl and we get somebody like Dyche or Gary O'Neil, I will literally vomit.

They weren’t willing to pay the compo after sacking Brussell so I don’t think they will do it in the summer either

We need a manager that can get the best out of what we have. Not try and copy Man City 8 years ago.

I'm looking forward to kick and rush football.

Can't wait for it do you think the players understand ... when in training they say play with your back to goal 🥅  it means our goal and not the oppositions ... or face forward... I think we have a communication problem somewhere

His compensation will drop in the summer allegedly that was what I was seeing on Owlstalk.
