If you want to share tickets still, You could buy a cheap smart phone and use that literally as the physical card..

Essentially paying a 100 quid premium

I'm out tho..ST since the Pearson promotion. I've never really liked 'having' to go every week anyways. Now's the time and I do wonder if over the next 5-6 years, crowds down to 25k,  it'll freshen things up a bit.

I’m 100% not renewing and I will fondly remember the old Leicester City I once loved as it still holds dear but this modern version of big club football is absolutely dire.

I will wish LCFC all the luck they deserve with their reduced attendances, spiralling costs and cinema style audiences.

I may go to one final game either Newcastle or Liverpool to say farewell and that will be it

There are four of us not renewing, for the same reasons. I just don't have the connection with this corporate club, and it's felt like that for a few years.

We've done well over 100 season tickets between us, it's pretty sad, but times move on.

The good news is I didn't have a season ticket in 2015-16 for various reasons, so the curse will be lifted again from next season😂

I'm happy to move over and give someone younger the chance to fill those seats.

Last few mobile tickets I've used for other events, the QR code refreshes every 30 seconds so a screenshot even 1 minute old wouldn't be valid. Imagine the same will happen with this eventually if it hasn't already.

You are correct and that will be the next step. Some clubs already have this enabled and it stops a thing other than instant sharing as the code is invalid. Many other events use this the O2 has moved to this for events.

This for me would mean the end, as soon as that comes in, my ST will be given up.

Took the decision, along with my brother, to not renew for next season. I’ll miss my seat!

A burner phone for using at the turnstiles!

I think if we are in the championship the season after next (mid table next season with no hope of bouncing back) then attendances will drop off dramatically, probably back to where we were 15 - 20 years ago around the 22k mark every game.

I honestly don’t see an Enzo season coming up if we drop.

That is the unofficial way and I would expect that to be closed off in the not too distant future. You can though log onto your account and allocate to anyone in your friends/family list.

Unofficial?? Why does that matter ? And it won't stop as they don't have the technology in the turnstile. It is the easiest way.

As I understand it Q codes are able to refresh on a regular basis so rendering them useless for sharing.

I am still undecided but it’s just a question of which decision I will regret more.. giving up my beloved seat or continuing with the same old same old..

They don't. These don't anyway. There are two types of QR codes. Static and Dynamic. KP uses static the likes of ticket master for gigs are using dynamic.

Of course it's a different QR per game but they haven't got the tech to use dynamic currently

You are wrong kid, they do work and I’ll tell you this, your card has the same chip in it as the chip in the top of smart phones to enable NFC ticketing to work.

As long as you downloaded the email at the start of the season it automatically updates in your wallet.

Another miff someone else said on here if the system goes down you’re stuck, if the system goes down card holders will not get in either as see my first paragraph it’s the same technology just one is in a piece of plastic, the other is in a phone.

You don’t need any signal at the ground, the problem is idiots turn up without first installing it and wonder why they cannot get in as no phone signal. Get it in your wallet beforehand and that’s it, after every game it will update for the next one.

Add in all you need to do is point the top edge of your phone at the ))) sign and it opens,  some try putting it under the QR reader or push it face on to the ))), yes go under the QR reader if using the extra QR code on it but you shouldn’t need to, that’s just a back up option.

But you have to ask why it’s mandatory if we won’t be in the league as it’s looking like?

So, we receive an email instead of a card and download each ticket into a wallet on your phone? What wallet?

If people share a ticket can you share the email?

An, what happens if you change phone mid season?

Will renew as next season back the championship might be fun. Especially winning games again, plus better atmosphere. Clubs like Sheffield Wednesday or Portsmouth do certainly make more noise than say Fulham and Brentford.

Don’t think there’s any guarantee we’ll win loads of games bud, we lost 11 under Enzo, it’s quite possible this shower could lose twice that many. Get what you’re saying though.

I am no expert but a quick google search indicates that changing to dynamic codes is no big deal. Seems to be the logical step if the club/PL want to stop the anonymous sharing of STs.

Right ok mate, well currently it works. I couldn't care less about next season to be honest as I won't be going. But ask yourself this. If it's THAT why aren't the likes of Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea not using it? They are all looking at things like finger print and eye retina scans (believe Spurs have trialled this already)

Genuinely don't think anyone in the mind of not renewing will regret it.

Next season will be a shitfest

If it wasn't for the fact that 8 of us, now in different locations, use pre match as our regular meet up, I don't think any of us would bother.

I’ve made the decision to not renew, but I don’t share your pessimism. I was tempted to renew because I really enjoyed our season in The Championship and there’s the tantalising possibility of seeing academy lads, like Alves (my mate’s son) and Nelson finally coming through. I’d love that. I just don’t trust the club to be that strategic. They’ll probably be given loans again because they’re too timid to try it. So for that reason and others - **** em.

According to Arsenal's website their tickets don't have a qr code, no reason why City can't remove theirs as far as I can see.

What Arsenal ARE doing, and I expect others to follow, is setting a minimum requirement of games STH have to attend or they lose the right to renew. I’m sure our club might try it down the line.
I think the ever creeping corporatism has finally severed my desire to get off my arse and attend matches. I’ll follow from afar now. This last 12 years or so was beautiful while it lasted.

Not got a problem with this.

Arsenal’s tickets are genuine NFT technology.

The NFT system used at Leicester is standard across the EPL it has dynamic code capability and is currently used by some clubs. As time progresses expect all clubs to turn it on. I think Leicester will give maybe one more season on static and then change. I would expect all away tickets to be dynamic next season.
