Just pressure tactics. That email should have been sent out on April 10th once ticket has actually been renewed. 

Also the auto renew stuff creates a LOOK HOW MANY HAVE ALREADY RENEWED , another 20,000 have downloaded the app comms story.
 

Good for internal sales reports to management and to show Mr Chairman the fans love him and the staff are working so hard etc

The gap is so massive and it’s sad that the likes of Bournemouth , Brentford and Brighton have now pulled up the ladder on HMS premier, 18 teams in the Championship are capable of being bigger, are bigger but won’t have a chance now thanks to PSR and money. The sooner the tv money goes pop and the so called big boys go to a super league the better.

PSR has hindered football more than it has helped. Apparently Chelsea have spent another 70 million euros again. The PSR really favors a few select clubs.
 

the gap between leagues is big. However I think modern football and “philosophy” of the current game, is part of the cause for this. Previously teams knew they were inferior and likely would defend and counter attack. Now Southampton and ourselves play so open and have to pass, when we do not have the players to do so. 
 

all 3 promoted club spent 70-+ million. Leicester and Southampton just spent the money abjectly. Ipswich will get back what the paid, delap will go for double etc and then they have a stronger side in the championship than when they came up. 
style of play and abject recruitment are a large part why the gap is so vast now.

I'm in my 30's ("young guard"?) and seen good times and bad times. I think some people seem to forget our lowest point, relegation to the third tier for the first time, was only in 2008.

Anyone in their mid to late twenties will remember the club and literally it's lowest and highest point. 

 

You don't have to be in the "old guard" to have experienced the ups and downs. 👍

Issue is, I'm very much that bracket (early 30s), started going to FNF in the late 90s but my earliest LCFC memories are of the end of Filbert Street, old folks around me decrying how shit Akinbiyi was and Dad warning me we might not have a club to follow anymore. Growing up, I only truly tuned into the state of LCFC the season we dropped to League One. So I guess I have seen the past two 'lowest ebbs', and have strong memories of the latter.

 

That team that went down to the 3rd tier was appalling in an entirely different way, but I never came out of games thinking the likes of Hume or Kisnorbo didn't give a shit. Given the difference in level, it's hard to argue this is a technically worse team, but by god it is my least favourite group of players I've ever seen representing our city.

 

Even when we've been bad before, I've still felt that connection to the team and club. That's vital, and KPFC have systematically eroded that over multiple years. It's unrecognisable and certainly not something to ignite passion in anybody, whether that's the old guard, those of us who grew up through the mad past 25 years, or kids being introduced to it today. I don't blame anyone my age who is ready to pack it in.

On the subject of renewal, my personal circumstances mean that I won't be attending nearly as many games as I have been doing, even before considering how utterly bored I am with KPFC as a whole.

 

That said, I'll be sucking it up unfortunately, not for my sake but purely for others. Dad retires in two years and wants to follow home and away when he's got the time to do so. Never gonna happen without our "in" as ST holders. So it's very much a case of holding my nose and doing it for him - as I already have my eye on a non-league club near my new home that I'll be primarily watching next season.

With a really heavy heart, I'm out. Struggle to attend many these days and can't justify the spend. The club's treatment of all of us in recent times tipped me over the edge.

 

Emailed to ask to cancel, outlining my concerns, and they weren't even acknowledged in the reply. I'd be sacked on the spot for failing to do that in my job. Just confirms they don't give a solitary shit about us, but makes me feel I've made the right decision on balance.

I've been a ST holder for the last 19 years. Seen the highs and the lows but I've given up. I can't stand this possession for possession's sake football. it's dreadful to watch. Going down for the past few seasons has a felt like a legacy obligation rather than an enjoyment.

 

I sent the cancel email with a heavy heart but once I got the confirmation it felt like a weight has been lifted.

I pay mine in full so it won’t auto renew and was just going to let the cut off date come and go. I’m hoping that way that I might get asked why I’m not renewing.

Semi-related, but can someone who is more active on the platform pop over to one of the room-temperature IQ groups on Facebook and explain to them that renewals can be cancelled before April 9th?

 

Even there, there are a bunch who are clearly stating they don't want to renew, but instead of reading the fine print they're just assuming they missed the deadline and grumbling about not being good with technology. Exactly what the cheats at the club want - low level grumbles that result in nothing from people who can't think for themselves.

I'm on the direct debit scheme which automatically renews unless you tell them otherwise. I'm guessing that if you're not set up for direct debit and pay with a one-off payment they won't renew unless you tell them otherwise.
