I think the relegation fight the team is in and just a few short weeks of the season left I don't think one night a week is a lot to ask. Yes he has a new baby but with all the travelling he would be home late anyway! Knuckle down and fight Harry. You are paid to do a job!

He has been refusing since Ruud came in though hasn't he? and he's been at the club coming up to 2 years, if he's committed to the club he should be moving to the area.

Yeah, babies just pop out immediately. No pregnancy involved.

I didn't realise it was impossible to move home when pregnant? or for the partner to have a single night away from home per week, he isn't going to be packing boxes himself.

Just saying you have absolutely no idea what sort of pregnancy it has been or what the situation is now. He's clearly joined here and it's been fine living further away, and then all of a sudden close to the birth of his child he's being asked to spend more time away than he usually would.

I'm willing to bet that very few players live within 30 minutes of the training ground, so what difference does it make unless he's been using travel as a reason to leave early or something.

He's been absolutely shite recently so I'm not that bothered about him being axed, but let's not lose sight of reality.

Honestly never seen anything like it.

I feel like there’s more going on behind the scenes we aren’t told about also, just one bad thing after another.

I’m sort of ok with it getting really bad, because then it HAS to get better slowly but surely!!

Well done, Ruud this is exactly what we need. Someone to set standards. Pretty obvious or owner can't do it. It’s highly unlikely to improve results in the short term, but that’s not the point. We don’t need players who think they can travel hundreds of miles for training or bring their dogs. It’s a complete joke.

I kind of get his point, but a player (who he doesn't play anyway) having to travel 100 miles, is the least of his problems.

About time the club stood up to players treating the City as a nuisance.

I say you either live here and take in the culture of Leicester/Leicestershire and it's people or **** off if it's not up to scratch.

Sick of people commuting from London or Manchester. People wonder why players look like they don't care or don't want to be here and it's because the simple fact of the matter is they don't care and they don't want to be here.

this is another reason why we need to give the youth a chance.

Of course I have no idea, but he was here far longer than 9 months, personally I'd prefer players to be closer to the club purely because travelling hundreds of miles per day week in week out is never going to be optimal especially for a professional athlete, but to be honest I'm not too bothered about players travelling to training, clearly the manager feels differently, maybe the extra 600-700 miles a week have affected him or maybe he's been late or wants to leave early, or doesn't want to attend things with the team after, that's complete speculation, but I really don't see it being an issue spending a night away from home a month before due date for example, and I'm sure if there was some effort to compromise it would have been accepted.

For me though as I said I'm not really bothered about this isolated issue, it's more about his complete lack of effort on the pitch, the rumours of him being a leak of player unhappiness on multiple occasions when cooper was here and according to a story on here was actually telling a Leicester fan how unhappy everyone was, then his public displays once cooper was sacked, I just don't think he's the sort of attitude we need around the club, but again I could be wrong, maybe he's a gem.

If they've had a rough time during pregnancy then I'd fully understand that, but I'd also imagine Ruud would understand too.

Whatever you think of RVN football wise, as a person he seems pretty reasonable and doesn’t seem like the bloke to cause a fight out of nowhere. He’s not the type of bloke to cause a bust up over a player saying “I need to be around my wife more post birth”,

It more seems that Winks has checked out of the season, is unwilling to put in the effort to turn his form around.
