I think Winks not wanting to stay overnight here was to do with his missus being heavily pregnant and them now having a new baby but even so on that sort of money, just buy a house up here. It was something that Little, MON and Pearson all preached about. Even Enzo had the entire squad stay at Seagrave when he first joined.

 

It's just another aspect of a club in absolute turmoil. If it was the 90s the Daily Mirror would have put the story up with a club badge cracked in half.

In that case I can't wait for us to go on a decade of dominance once it's over. 10 PL's in a row. The same number of CL titles. Winning everything possible a few times over and completing football rendering the game totally pointless for every other club as it'll never be matched.

What tactical set up can you possibly employ with this squad of players? Can't play possession because we don't have enough quality, can't press because our midfielders/forwards don't have the energy, can't sit deep because all our centre backs are prone to error, can't counter attack because we only have one fast forward in Mavididi.

 

We have a nightmare squad, even with tactical genius Enzo we would struggle based on our games against Leeds and Ipswich last season.

How can you drill a player the way you want them to be when they won’t follow a basic request/order to stay 1 night a week ‘on camp’?

What player would want to be on his side or want to actually play for him when you see how shite the tactical side of his manager ability is (the most important part) 

Alternatively, the players don’t give a shit so don’t want to try and the manager just has to pick 11 turds out of 20 odd. I’m reserving judgement until the summer, especially with the snippets coming out of the club about the players.

Would you have been so tolerant of Cooper losing 14 (or whatever) on the spin (without even an attack, let alone a goal)? 

 

Or are you prepared to 'reserve judgement' because the Dutchman is better looking?

I personally didn’t think Cooper should have been sacked however he was on to a loser from the start. 
 

Any manager on a run like this would and should have gone, but there’s something underlying in the squad for me and I think Ruud should be given a window with some funds to see what he has.

Going away while they’re pregnant for a couple of days is not the same as when your kid has arrived and you need to be there for each other. If he’s a decent bloke which I suspect he is, he’s staying to help out. 
 

If that’s the reason he said no, then fair play to him. If it’s simply an excuse that’s a different story. 
 

Either way, you can’t force someone to be there outside of working hours. if he’s not being late he can do as he pleases.

I don’t think this shines a positive light on Ruud, why not set this standard from day one? 
 

Or Winks? One night a week and stay at our training ground, is hardly a big ask nor puts a millionaire out of pocket.

 

Just makes me dislike everything about the club even more than I thought was possible.

Rumours are the club is pretty much led by a group of senior players including Vardy, Winks,, Vesty and Coady. What is interesting is that Ruud has now isolated 2 from his match day squad and Vardy removed at half time for tactical reasons. 
 

The more I think about this, the more I think this is being leaked by Ruud’s people as damage limitation and to spin the narrative that the club is rotten and their are zero standards, it’s not his fault blah blah blah, this is a dead man walking scenario, he knows it and so does his his representatives so let’s try and and spin the story that Ruud never had a chance etc etc. 

 

I honestly think Monday’s team and match day squad selection and performance will show he has lost a lot of the senior players and he will be on his way in the next few days.

If there is an end of season break with no comp due then I think ruud stays till then.  We will be so stretched on psr that every penny will be important.

I think there is a few aspects of this situation

1-Harry's home still at London and this isn't okey. He have had to move Leicester a long time ago. 

2-None wants to leave his wife at home while due date is on the door. He already leaves when the match on away and he doesn't want more than that. 

3-I think the others can understand his situation and can tolerate ıt ıf ıt is one of the concerns. 

In conclusion we dont need an drama like that while we are shaking between Championship and PL. These are grown men and have to find a better way for the club. I dont know how they are get along with each other but ıt has to end.

I suspect most managers would, in an ideal world, prefer players to be based in the area. If they don't act on it, it's most likely because players usually move of their own accord, and those who don't tend to have accommodation or some kind of second / third / fourth home nearby. O'Neill had a flat, I think. Les Ferdinand practically lived in a hotel. Or maybe no problems present themselves as a result of living a long way away, which is what Pearson probably thought. If there is an attitude problem across the squad and a high number doing long commutes, it's makes more sense that a manager would propose a change, and a show of commitment.

 

Winks' behaviour regarding Cooper, his dire performances and very visible lack of effort on the pitch at times would indicate that there is a problem with him, and maybe that's why the manager has asked him for that demonstration of his commitment. Perhaps it's not a blanket rule, but rather a case-by-case approach, and in Winks' case you could easily see why a manager would ask more of him. If he's clashed with the manager over it, then I'd be more inclined - based on what I've seen and heard of the player - to back the manager in taking action, and take the view that it's probably not an arbitrary flexing of the muscles. It doesn't take much imagination to suppose that Winks is one of those characters we need to be working hard to get out of the door if we're to instill a new ethic at the club.

 

Of course, it still doesn't change the fact that Ruud has done a lousy job, and given us no reason at all to believe that he's the right man in the long run. The fact that failure is understandable with such an unspirited set of substandard players (that he's tended to stick by, and for whom he's hardly exhausted all of the alternatives) isn't a great argument for his continuation.
