Our transfer windows are very similar to a middle aged mans sex life, lots of promise but very little action - a very slow build up with a flurry of action at the end but ultimately you end up frustrated and disappointed - and you've got to wait another 6 months for the next opportunity (opening).

And you end up paying for an oldie, who you know is past their prime and you will end up disappointed but its better than nothing

I've been wracking my brains for an explanation too, for our desire to seemingly sell players but not buy more.  We can't reverse the PSR breach because it relates to the last 3 years, so what's the point in balancing the books now?  The only benefit I can see is that if we were to appeal against a points deduction, it would demonstrate a commitment to sorting out our finances, which might make an appeal look more kindly on us.

The aspect of your theory that doesn't make sense though, is that by selling players we make ourselves more vulnerable to relegation, which in turns makes us far less valuable.  If Top was planning to sell LCFC, it would be far better to keep us in the Championship than let us get relegated to league 1.  From a purely business perspective, the advice would surely be to recoup as much as you can without risking massively slashing the value of the club ie sell a few players but not too many, and buy in a few decent ones so you stay up.

Agreed. Your theory is good but depends how deluded/out of touch the people advising Top are, and how desperate KP are for cash. Do they think we are an attractive proposition / brand and we can stay up with the current team after sales? If we don't buy, but get in a few loans, then maybe we would be reasonably attractive to a non-uk buyer, if we try and get a few points on the board. No certain how much due diligence buyers do these days, on the real rather than perceived value of a club. Fans I think see the real value, rather than what the accounts show. If Top tries to sell in the few months if we are mid table, whilst appealing any points deductions, and blaming the fans of course, we both could be right!

We are not that lucky to be sold

But if on the slim chance we are sold

it’s party time that week and I’ll definitely be on it 🍺 every LCFC fan can all breathe a sigh of huge relief that this useless inept clown has finally gone and ****ed off back to Thailand

At this rate, I’m not sure we do anything incoming.

We’ll empty the squad then basically try and stay in the championship.

May as well wave the white flag now.

I don’t think we will sign anyone either. Just simply too much to do in not enough time, and because it’s taken us an age clubs will know we’re desperate.

Then next summer we will lose the rest of the key players, and be left with Ayew and Faes in league 1.

I'm still convinced we will get in a few loans in the last few days after we know exactly what we are left with. Not convinced they will be up to the standard we need or if there will be enough of them to cover the holes in the squad though.

Ayew's contract expires next summer, so itll just Faes. Which is probably more depressing

This is what I tried to paste before!

So if Collymore is correct, simply getting rid of our high earners like Vestergaard, if they have not asked for a transfer makes the situation even worse.

This also likely leads into the situation whereby we loan players out for a fee, which then covers the wages partially.

I thought people were aware of so called loyalty bonuses, I think Ben Foster has a good youtube on the subject.

Why do people think even want away players don't submit a transfer request?.

Take El Khannouss he wants a transfer, but will not ask for one officially as he will still wants to collect he loyalty bonus.

Simply if you don't ask to leave officially you are still entitled to your loyalty bonus.

It's not as easy as some people think.

Hence why people like Fabrizio rub their hands together and create this unrest.

I think we could still do with selling/loaning a few more after Kasey:

Hamza - £5m to Wrexham

JJ - £7m to Leeds

Soumare - Loan or Winks - Permanent

Bilal - £32m to Palace or Spurs.

Wanya Marcal - Permanent

Silko Thomas - Permanent

Don't fret too much, we'll also still have Vestergaard.

I’m being ambitious. Once Bilal is sold I reckon we will:

Sign someone on a free.

Pay for one player.

Get at least one loan in (hopefully 2-3)

Still optimistic Hamza and/or Winks and Justin can go too.

Sadly there’s no interest in Booby or Bobby
