What if Olympiacos fall into the EL from the UCL with Forest still in it?

It’s an absolute farce and another nail in the coffin for how football has gone downhill over the past 7-8 seasons.

If there's any justice, Palace will win the Conference League while Forest will completely destroy their domestic season trying to compete in their unearned Europa League spot before getting dumped out by Bodo Glimt.

Their fans claimed that their results dropped off after March because they were tired, even though clubs who overtook them had European football to contend with while they didn't. The reality is that they just got found out, and are now going into a season where they've lost Elanga's pace on the break (critical to their threat), they have unearned Europa League football to contend with and Wood is a year older.

Just read up on the Palace issue.. Seems pretty cut and dry that Textor messed up. Whether he wasn't aware or didn't think there was a chance it could happen only he will know.

 

Kinda wish Forest had qualified for Champions league now if he missed the deadline. Would have been great to see him pick Olympiacos as the primary club

So so funny how he relinquished the chairman post on April 1st but has now reinstated himself. He’s only following the rules but how can anyone not see the issue with that. 
 

Anyhow, Forest will get battered in the Europa league looking at the line up this season, whereas the conference league should be winnable for any prem club.

Just so shit. If Ligue 1 stuck to their guns and relegated Lyon (before the overturned appeal), then Palace would be in the Europa League.

 

There’s a number of things wrong with this. Why Lyon take precedent over Palace, despite being the ones relegated in a courtroom, is nuts. 

 

Crybaby FC being the club to benefit is pretty sickening too. 
 

God bless Buonanotte for stopping these pricks getting into the Champions League.

The UEL was absurdly weak last season, as evidenced by the finalists. 

 

Roma, Porto, Lille, Villa, Betis will all likely consider Forest light work.

 March 1st deadline but Jabba didnt do it till the 1st April. And now he's taken ownership back on the 6th June. Smells worse than a butchers dustbin. What makes it worse is that Forest owner and fans thinks its ok to do this. Get in the auropa league by default 

Hope they have a terrible season and get hit by PSR or something.  All other fans should rile them constantly when they are home or away

It's not just regional rivalry that makes me hope Palace win the Conference League while Forest get absolutely shown up and look as out of place in the UEL as they actually are, it's about integrity of the sport.

 

If Palace are too good for the UECL and Forest get worn like Sooty in the UEL, then you can only conclude both are out of place. 

 

As for their fans, they deserve only the worst. Genuinely the most arrogant and deluded fanbase in English football relative to club size. Delusions of grandeur.

They are by far the worst

I am sat with 2 right now and they are loving it. They think they have done noting wrong or their owner has. I know by law they havent but they are so deluded they will win Europa and deserve its actually sickening...

Lyon had to appeal against a forced relegation yet they are more worthy of a higher European place than Palace?

 

The whole thing is ridiculous. March 1st as a deadline basically means that any team outside of league European contention has to think about the possibility of changing ownership models before the FA Cup begins given the time it would take for the new owners to pass tests, legal stuff etc on the off chance you might win the cup.

What doesn't make sense to me, is the whole Forest and Palace swapping places.

 

If Palace broke the rules, surely that means they should be removed from European competition altogether?

 

Also, Palace got into Europe based on FA cup success, not their League position. So surely, if UEFA are insistent on a Club replacing Palace instead of just offering their competition free wins, then their replacement also needs to come from that same competition through which they qualified?

They genuinely believe that they UNDERachieved last season. Before that, they last finished in the top 10 of English football in 1995!

Haven't really read much about it but isn't the argument simply that they can't be in the same competition as Lyon, not that they can't play in Europe at all. Not that I agree with the ruling.
