I've never thought two different squads playing two games on the same day as it doesn't help new players gel with the rest of the squad, but I guess that doesn't apply to us.

More minutes in more players  makes sense to me

Have you rationally considered this point of view?

Do you really believe that by parts of the squad being in separate places for around 5/6 hours at most, that this will be highly detrimental to squad cohesion?

I’m all for people having opinions, but when the view and conclusion combines to present absolute nonsense it has to be questioned.

Blimey are you okay? Who turned you into hackneyfox?

When they're separated for 5/6 hours at most to go and perform their jobs.. sure, why is that absolute nonsense?

If all this chemistry building can be done by being on the training ground together then why bother arranging friendlies in that case? May as well just play intra squad friendlies on the training ground all pre season. What is Okoli going to gain today by building an understanding with a GK like Bausor behind him who won't be near the starting XI this season? I'm not at all saying that we should only give minutes to 11-15 players but I'd like to think the squads today are split between strong/back ups rather than a 50/50 split

Personally I'm all for the double match approach. It means twice the number of players get 60-90mins match fitness, get to play the tactics live, show the manager what they can do and push for a starting spot. It's obviously not ideal for creating partnerships on the pitch but you'd assume one team today will be close to the WIP starting XI for Sheff Weds.

Wonder if they might cancel the Fiorentina game or make some shit up about it needing to be behind closed doors.

They're going to make a loss on it because they opened the whole ground up for some unknown reason, now it's too late to go back on that they're stuck!

The whole squad will train in different units and pairings throughout the season, so again, your doubled down thinking defies any reasonable logic.

Even £5-10 covers costs and would have been accepted by fans

£5 would have been the sweet spot in all honesty, more so with the kit meant to be coming out then too

Where did he say he thought it would be "highly detrimental to squad cohesion"? He said not playing together won't help players gel, which is inarguably true even if you think - as I am also inclined to - the other benefits of split squads outweigh that. Questioning an opinion usually involves challenging the things a person has actually said.

It was mindless club bashing, nothing more, nothing less - because that’s the trend on these pages - and deserved a challenge.

And whilst we’re in the challenging mood, let’s look at your assertion shall we because it seems you need a lesson in basic comprehension?!?

Note: One is able to add some rhetorical flair and overreach in a response to press home a point; just because I haven’t use the phrase the OP used doesn’t mean I haven’t directly questioned what he said.

A view from brainy too - assume it's an ironic nickname

I can't wait for the hour leading up to the game on Sunday after the team is announced.

It was absolute chaos on here when Cooper didn't pick Ricardo in his final XI before the first game of the season.

I expect more of the same when we see big Bobby & Jordan up top for the might foxes on Sunday.
