Best I can do is Eyres Monsell

Not from Leicester and don't know all these neighbourhoods that get mentioned (thankfully) but you have a place named after Patrick Leigh Fermour's wife?!

Yeah, I just saw this, feels like Russia really starting to test the boundaries to the rest of Europe the past few weeks. Getting a bit scary.

The MoD appear to believe it an isolated incident, but yes, the timing is not great at all.

Is the UK genuinely prepared for a potential nuclear attack?..

No, and neither is anywhere else. That is the whole point of such weapons.

Their entire value lies in their deterrent. The moment one is actually used and is attributable, then it becomes worthless, because that is inevitably the first move in a game that is very short, very brutal and ends with everyone losing.

Why is it in cases like the poor little Preston Davey there is always countless missed opportunities to save the child?

Who are the people that ignored the injuries he had and didn’t speak up? And why didn’t they?

It’s cases like this that make me wish we just used a firing squad as punishment.

We can't build a railway so I'm going to out on a limb and guess a nuclear attack might be a little tricky to deal with

Anyone feel that Russia is trying to provoke us to spending more on military? I find myself wondering, could they be trying to stretch our resources, rather than actually physically attacking us and creating the social conditions for a government they would see as allies in power?

It would also give them more reason to increase their military spending. There are a lot of rich, powerful people, on all sides, who become even richer and more powerful at times like these.

I do know someone whom I repeatedly say that, "she never gives a one word answer, when a thousand will do." She achieves this by repeating herself, but with synonymous words, as if she doesn't realise they mean exactly the same thing.

This warship story is ideal boomer Facebook bait isn't it. The Telegraph social media manager's wet dream.

- chance to criticise the UK government (for some reason)

- chance to criticise the UK armed forces

- chance to make a jibe about dingies
