Ian Stringer still think Tops a great owner? W**ker.

He’s tried to hang onto their coat tails to further his career, not a shock.

The vile and vicious comments on this forum towards the chairman, are really quite disgusting. Yes we know he has messed up at times since he was thrust into the chair, but there are many good things he and his family have done for our club and City since they came in. I really hope that those on here who are posting these comments, will not be attending matches next season. If not, you can satisfy yourselves that you apparently are the only ones who care about our club, because your vicious comments mean in your heads, that you are the true fans and the ones attending, are only going out of habit. Has it never occurred to you that we actually watch City because we support them, we don’t enjoy seeing them relegated, but we stick by them in the bad times. What is it some of you sing? In the good times and the bad we always back the lads, that’s a joke.Vichai would be turning in his grave if he witnessed the hate aimed at his son.

If you look back  at the many various posts relating to the owner over the last few months, you will find plenty of vicious, personal insults. My response was due to being sick of this constant abuse. It would be in everyone ’s interest if they sold up and we could have new owners and hierarchy. Stating what has gone wrong, is not being personally abusive as it is factual. Calling him a c… and telling him to f… off, is.

Seriously, grow up. It's a sign of anger and frustration, people aren't robots, and while someone might disagree with the language, these people can't have it all one way; accept the success on one hand, but not feel the frustration on the other.

How do you think any change happens? I'm not saying our fan base is particularly well organised, but I think a well worded letter does not have the same impact.

Look at it in another way; the way the ownership of our club treats the supporters. Total up that impact. Betting sponsorship, rejection of mental health shows of support etc., cancelling tickets for fans who speak out against the ownership. Now put that total net impact on a human level, against a couple of people who earn a great deal of money, who decided themselves to not only get into this business, but also every decision along the way. I don't agree with violence or things that are not appropriate, but I think I can live with a few phrases being put their way, either online or in person.

Don’t be so bloody patronising. Change needs to happen but do you really think “a few phrases being put their way” is going to sway them? KP won’t go until they want to. The same as protests from fans of other clubs who are well organised, like Utd. , Spurs and Newcastle, didn’t make any difference against their owners. Ashley went when HE wanted to go. We are stuck with them until interests outside of football force them to sell.

If you read the article, it points to KP massively profiting from corruption. I think it could be argued that even Vichai’s empire wasn’t built based on business acumen.

This was one of my biggest takeaways from the article too.

Sounds like basically just getting a favourable nod opened up the multi-million empire for Vichai. There’s a still a skill to being in that position and it’s people skills: influence, rapport and networking. He was obviously good at that from what those who encountered him tend to say.

But it also points to a potential lack of ability to organically build a business to the size King Power became. And therefore perhaps not much to instill in Aiyawatt and co.

The fact the Thai media directly went for the corruption angle is the interesting thing

You don’t go there unless someone high ups given you a nod and wink in a country like Thailand

Bit of a message being sent to KP

Exactly my thoughts. Appear to be losing their protection a bit. Combined with some political upheaval. There was always a good chance of a potential end game like this.

Suspect Aiyawatt may be spending a bit more time in Berkshire over the next few months

I'm confused. One moment you don't like any naughty words being said to our esteemed leadership (they might get upset!), although you weren't a fan of them, but now you're saying fan power is futile anyway. I never said unorganised criticism would bring about change or sway them, or that any of this is easy - my point was, defending the geniuses running our club from verbal anger seems an odd choice.

Very different cases, very different business situations, and a very depressing viewpoint - join in with the happy clappers mate and  "get behind our lads".

Think this is the state of most if not all of English football ownership outside of the rare example. Sad way for things to shake out but at this point I desperately hope that some American sports team owner looks to buy us on the cheap ala Leeds/Brum and turn us around. I spent a lot of time in America in the early 2020’s and late 2010’s and a lot of sentiment exists with us, as that was the time period football became big over there, and a lot of the people I’d speak to saw us as big fish, which ultimately could save us. The time is now as that sentiment is probably fading, we need the club selling next year or two in an ideal world. Wonder if the statue of Vichai survives a sale

People keep referring to King Power selling up? News flash they don’t own us anymore.

Secondly any M&A advisor worth their salt would be telling potential bidders or investors to steer clear, because this club could be a whole lot cheaper in 12 months time.

Not sure on Tops personal wealth, and presume 90% of it is linked to the success of KP - so if that goes up the swanny his ability to put any further cash in will aswell.

Would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when the auditors meet with Whelan and the rest of the board to discuss going concern

To say our club and KP is in trouble is an understatement. Every Leicester City fan should read that because I don’t think the majority of the fans understand how much trouble they’re in. But then again with administration looming they’d still back an owner that is completely out of his depth. Delusional !!!!

Weirdly appears to have flown home today, coincidence with this article? He’s supposed to be back on the polo field Tuesday….

Honestly given the legal battles they have won through in the past this might well blow over too.  It looks like it is no-one's best interest to let KP lose their position.  I would expect announcement of revised contract terms in a couple of months.  Funnily enough the higher rates they are paying were if I am not mistaken as a result of the AOT deciding KP has too good a deal, and a bit of political pressure later they went up.  All fine when the Tourism sector is booming, but not sustainable on an ongoing basis when numbers fall.  AOT need to realise they cannot take that kind of cut when the business is struggling.

I’m sorry but what response do you expect when you have someone preferring to keep “friends” in a job despite killing OUR club. Someone who’s seen laughing and making us look stupid on national television during some of our toughest times. Someone who somehow managed to make it about him and how hard done by he was the first time we got relegated.

If you poke a bear enough it’s going to get nasty. Do you want it to get nasty? Of course not, but who’s at fault for it getting nasty?!

The blind sympathy for someone who appears to care less about you and me is insane.

Story in Thailands main English media outlet today.

Looks like a complete hit piece from the Thai media establishment on King Power and our beloved Chairman

I’d suggest any political/royal protection they had is fading based on this being published

“financial pariah” and “strategic desperation” are some of the  phrases being used

Very interesting. I’ve shared a few times over the past year, I’ve previously been informed from someone with close ties to the club, that Top cleared the clubs debt to make the club more attractive on the market for potential buyers. The club wasn’t necessarily for sale but willing to listen to offers supposedly.

Intriguing to see if this is a domino effect.
