This is the kind of thing seen in the last months of Woolworths or BHS

It’s quite a short term agreeement isnt it, that’s all I can say. You would imagine this means they are in the market to sell us, where else are they raising cash from?

One season worth, Aiyawatt and co are gambling on us getting promotion at the first time of asking and then selling the club next summer once we are a premier league club again..

I doubt they would have time. I’d imagine they will look to do this very quickly if this is how they plan to raise money.

Makes you wonder what they are planning to sell during the 8 months to be able to pay it back… I suspect it’s not Larb sticks.

It will just then get renegotiated, they will be kicking it into the long grass so they can convince Thai regulation they are still a going concern, wonder what bank is daft to pony up a £30m guarantee, suspect it will need to be secured against personal assets of the family  lol.

Unless they are gambling on some big compensation from Leonardo?

Maybe but they can’t use that as collateral

They don’t really have much in terms of fixed assets (well publicly at least)

The skyscraper in Bangkok is the only significant non LCFC thing

LCFC, OHL and KP are three separate companies, but one does affect the other (and visa versa).... Lets say KP went under,  who knows what money reserves the Srivaddhanaprabha have to keep us going?!

It's not really in the public domain what they have/haven't got.

Bit like we gambled on finishing top 8 and the money that would generate and ended up being relegated

They aren't going to secure against anything personal.

Thailand is losing tourists to Vietnam and Cambodia. I suppose we could've sponsored by the Vietcong just to add a bit of spice with the American owners of other clubs but the Vietnam War ended a long time ago and Ho Chi Min is dead. Dunno who will buy us if we're sold. Boeing would be ironic.

I have only just started looking into what is going on at King Power in Thailand, and when you have the new CEO talking about being on life support, then you know it could all collapse rather spectacularly and very quickly. The only positive for King Power, is that the airports themselves would take a huge hit financially if King Power do cancel their contracts, and so the new CEO is using that threat to try keep King Power going for now. Either way, I can't see King Power being anywhere near as successful as they once were, and I very much doubt we will have the kind of investment we did in the past.

The same saying crops up, of being 'careful for what you wish for', in terms of new Ownership. However, due to the constant mismanagement from Top and Rudkin, and the very real prospect of a King Power collapse, I would absolutely be in favour of rolling the dice and being sold to new owners. I think with the training ground, plans for a new stadium, and the story behind Leicester, we would likely attract a lot of interest, if Top didn't demand a silly price.

I understand Top has personal attachment to the club, and so it may take the collapse of King Power to force him to sell. Either that, or he could stubbornly take us down with him.

Thanks for the good times King Power, but it really does feel like this is, and should be the end. Please sell.

They've just been granted a deference on payments due to the AOT, obviously to avoid contract breaches and defaults. It's pretty grim stuff.

Doesn't exactly scream optimism does it? lol

Sheffield Wednesday fan here - reading through some of the comments on your club.

One thing we can agree on is that Thai owners right now are not what our clubs need.

I’ll be grateful if we can even fulfil the first game of the season it’s that bad. General consensus is that we won’t have any staff, not enough players (they are all handing in their notice), and therefore cannot fulfil the game. That could lead to expulsion from the league.

You want to do everything you can to get new owners before you turn into us.

I’d say 70% of our fan base still think Top is the messiah

Of the remaining 30%, 25% are happy to do nothing more than moan about him and ask when he’s selling up.

Hi Owlfaninpeace

Wish you all the best for the future. As many posters have alluded to, SW is a great and historic club that deserves a decent owner.

A couple of thoughts - Do our friends / posters from Leuven have any anxieties or thoughts over the current situation, secondly although Top and others lack of presence is criticised is it reasonable to say that at the very least he and others involved in KP will be focusing less on us right now than they ordinarily would in order to deal with their bigger concern?

Financially due to ffp he's not been able to spend on the squad if he wanted to but the stadium and broader site expansion /  investment becomes an even more redundant issue than it was before.

Have we had any statement since relegation and this KP situation occurring yet.....or about anything?
