Let himself down .... really .... he didn't let the fans down then ? .... I can't think of many players that deserve any form of praise over the past couple of seasons .... praise and criticism should be swallowed in equal amounts... you can't have one without accepting the other ...... he is a professional after all ....

It’s like an oven out there so will let it slide but if you scroll up, my full comment was -

Abdul let himself and us down with performances at the end of the season, but he’s clearly one of our better players.”

My original point stands, I get the anger towards everything LCFC related, I feel the same.

Yet, as some others have posted, Abdul will be playing at a higher level than us for the next 5 years at least.

The stark reality is that he is our only senior professional we can realistically make a decent profit on.

As always with us, we can sell the cream, but not the mould.

The problem is that even the selling part is underwhelming, because the finances are so precariously positioned that the club can’t afford to play hardball with any offers received.

Please don't let it slide .... if I were another mamager looking at him .... I would see

As a decent defender you only have to show him the inside .... as he rarely goes by anyone on the outside

He is far far to inconsistent

Not really a team player

Not one for tracking back

Best we can hope for is a loan deal with the possibility of an option to buy .... we are not going to make a massive profit if any at all

We have seen him go on the outside plenty, particularly 23/24 and in glimpses before he was injured in 24/25.

Wingers are inconsistent, Mahrez was inconsistent for us.

Again in 23/24 he was great at tracking back and worked really hard for the team - he got something like 15 assists off the top of my head

All depends on what teams are  willing to pay and if there are multiple teams in for him,

We've seen him be one of our best players in our worst ever team so our view is tainted, he was disappointing at the back end of the season definitely but we've seen FAR more good than bad from him. If we were linked with a player that could do this now we'd rightly very excited:

100%. He'll do so well somewhere where he isn't in a completely dysfunctional set up and nigh on the only player capable of winning a match.

Was doubled up on most of last season to give Mavididi the freedom of LE2 to play like Olly Murs at Soccer Aid

I'm pretty convinced in six months time you'll be able to add him to the list of players who 'miraculously' improve after leaving us. It doesn't keep happening by accident.

It absolutely will happen. In fact, I expect Fatawu to become the gold standard of this pattern. In future years, players who improve massively after leaving us will be described as 'doing an Abdul'.

He definitely will but I don't think this is a bold prediction considering by and large he's actually been really positive for us. It's not like someone like Skipp who has played like he's on a Be A Footballer Experience as part of a stag for 100% of his time at the club.

I honestly don't think he'll go on to have that great a career. His game is based around worldie moments which will be limited against better defenders.

My argument with him is that he has such a low football IQ against his innate ability. He has a stack more natural ability than say Marc Albrighton, but I know which one I want as part of my team every day of the week.

Aside from when it wasn't under Maresca?

No I probably would agree and it is mostly the last few months of the season gone where he went off the boil. What I sort of expect is he'll start slowly at his new club. Tielemans and Barnes both did this. Hermansen the same albeit Hermansen joined another bin fire.

I’d love to find the stat but before he was injured in his PL season, didn’t he have the highest successful take on’s from a player outside the top 6?

The way that some people describe Abdul on here blows my mind.

If anyone was using the same vitriol about Stephy, I totally get it.

Look at Abdul’s numbers, they were pretty impressive with so much room to grow too.

The rumour today is West Ham for almost 20m- some of what you have said isn’t all wrong but he is way above our level and will in the near future be a prem regular. He will run and defend and showed that his first season with us and for Ghana against us the other day, imagine it’s hard to stay motivated when you’re scoring goals from your own half and your strikers either can’t run or can’t play football

He will leave, along with Monga and probably Nelson, leaving us with the rubbish nobody wants.

And we will get about 25 million for all 3. Just enough money to pay Winks, Vestergaard, BDCR, Choudhury and Rudkins salary....for a year. Happy to cheer you all up.
