Can he make himself dissappear

I know that this was in relation to Abdul being a magician.

But, we’re an odd fanbase aren’t we?

Abdul let himself and us down with performances at the end of the season, but he’s clearly one of our better players.

The praise for some players and OTT criticism of others, really blows my mind.

I think people are just annoyed his form dropped (stats were still decent when you factor in how poor the team was) and want someone to blame because they expected so much from him.

It's easier to say he's shit now and hope he stays shit, than to accept he is actually a talent, has room for improvement and needs the right club.

To me, it comes across as a coping mechanism rather than being honest about his actual ability/potential.

Maddison got the same treatment in 22/23 when he was good for 3/4 of the season then struggled at the end.

Pretty much same as Abdul - probably trying too hard, felt the pressure and buckled.

If he fulfills his potential, being at the right club and coached well then he will be playing in the upper reaches in 1 of the so called big 5 leagues. He certainly has the potential we have seen that. Good luck to him and hope he gets a decent move away from our cesspit of a club.

Same people who absolutely lambast the club for being a horrendous toxic environment of poor leadership and management refuse to apply that to the actual people working in it. Abdul will fly at a club that has a good culture and quality coaching. He had none of that since Enzo left.

The fact so many focus so much on the players so much full stop is what blows my mind when it’s been clear and obvious what the problem is.

As I’ve said before, you may as well close every thread in this forum apart from the king power out one. It’s the only one that has any relevance to the clubs immediate or long term future.

Well we are not getting much more fitter with pass pass ball incoming 🙄 😒

They seem to have forgotten to practice the bit where they might have to run back to our end to defend

Excuse my ignorance. But what is defend?

Fatawu still scored some cracking goals last season in a shocker of a side. In fairness to him, those around him (creative midfielders to play him in), strikers (to make runs and create space) were non existent IMO

People just underestimate how much a poor environment affects a player. If you genuinely don’t see that fatawu is an amazing player then I just don’t think I’d rate your opinion of football.

It’s almost impossible to judge how good anyone is at this club. But out of everyone, fatawu is clearly the best by a country mile

I’m with you @Lambert09. Abdul is a £50M+ player in the making. Emphasis, for now, on ‘in the making’.

And I like what I’ve seen of his character. If he moves to the right environment next, just watch him go.
In any event, for me he’s the best to play for us in that position since the most gifted player ever to wear the shirt left.

The majority of fans criticized pretty much everyone at the club, including the owners and staff members, not just one single player.

However, Fatawu's drop in form in particular was mind-boggling. 1 goal and one assist in his final 12 matches with us this past season is very, very poor. That's Daka level.

Most people didn't expect too much of him, but maybe just keeping it up.

Surely, you win and lose as a team. At one point, you have to take responsibility for your own actions (or inactions, rather) as a player, though.

I do hope we sell at a good price and include a sell-on fee (seeing that Sporting have theirs, that's pretty much a given).

Type of player that needs careful coaching which we've not been able to offer. I think the fact that Fatawu hasn't been to able to figure at least some of the things out by himself, which in all fairness made him a massive  liability is his limitation as a player. Those that can reflect and  adjust independently is what makes a player truly class.

The fact that we've had such a wishy wash set of crap managers and a complete lack of leadership, DOF and also on the pitch is a perfect storm for us to see the worst of Abdul.

our best player by miles, gave up a bit last year.Annoying, but imagine going to work everyday with a pathetic bunch of workmates who couldn’t do their job and a series of clueless bosses thrown in

When he’s answering questions when he hangs up his boots about the best manager he has played answer the answer won’t be Gary Rowett or Marti Cifuentes or Ruud van Nistelrooy

You say that but I know a retired player, who played under Brian Clough, who really rated David Pleat.

Let himself down .... really .... he didn't let the fans down then ? .... I can't think of many players that deserve any form of praise over the past couple of seasons .... praise and criticism should be swallowed in equal amounts... you can't have one without accepting the other ...... he is a professional after all ....
