Hopefully he can get back to fitness and still make a good career but doubtful with us. I think partly down to injuries but the generation that we were hopefully of with Alves, Braybrooke and Nelson, I don’t think any of them will play for us now, other than a few minutes here and there. Probably more hope with the younger group who are coming through.

Ric Flair Posted 25 September 2025 Posted 25 September 2025 It used to be that our players were lining up to get injured when we first moved to Seagrave, now it seems that if you get loaned away from Seagrave you're in for a bad injury. Nelson Souttar Wanya Marcal Alves All got bad injuries in the last 12 months.

We wasted him in a front 4 with Ayew, Cordova Reid and an old Vardy. 3

He’s anti science and as soon as he started getting rid of the old medical team everything went to crap. 3

The Leicester City attacking midfielder only managed four appearances for the Terriers before the bad news arrived this week. Alves had missed the midweek cup tie against Manchester City and, speaking on Friday, Huddersfield manager Lee Grant confirmed that the 20-year-old would be on the sidelines for a period of time with a foot issue. Grant said: “We are going to be without Will Alves for months rather than weeks, which is really disappointing. “It’s a real big blow. He’s come in and been so bright with his energy, so bright with his performances. “We’ve been very careful to manage his minutes and manage the physical exposure that he’s had, and then you do all of that, and then something freak comes out of nowhere, and he gets a foot injury. “It's really disappointing for Will and really disappointing for myself and the playing squad.” Alves added: “Gutted to be missing part of the season due to injury. I’ve had a successful operation and can’t wait to be back playing with the team soon.” Scoring with the first touch in his league debut for Huddersfield earlier this month, Alves had made his first start for his new club last weekend and looked set for a prominent role as they compete for League One promotion. The season-long loan was a big opportunity for Alves to get a significant number of senior minutes under his belt. After losing a year of development through an ACL injury, he spent the second half of last term on loan in the Championship with Cardiff. He made the loan switch to Huddersfield in the summer having been unable to force his way into Marti Cifuentes’ plans. 2
SkidsFox Posted 28 September 2025 Posted 28 September 2025 Sounds like Braybrooke is coming on strong. Not looking good for Alves. It's a tough profession to make it in, even if the rewards can be huge.

JimJams Posted 4 October 2025 Posted 4 October 2025 (edited) Woyo didn't get off the bench for Sassuolo yesterday. Hopefully not a trend. One start in 4. Only 10 minutes in the last 2. That's the league. The 3-0 dicking at the hands of Como in the cup seem to have done for him. Edited 4 October 2025 by JimJams
