Red coat can fxck off, notice he left before the final whistle despite telling everyone to back the lads

strange bloke, went ballistic over a rudkin chant shouting back the lads, then spent most of the rest of the 1st half looking at his phone

Probably looking at and replying angrily to posts critical of Aiyawatt/Rudkin across various FB groups….

We desperately need some player chants, the songbook is a bit bare isn’t it.

Only one I can muster is Chase the Sun (darts song) as we used to do for Yakubu - replace the Oi Oi Oi with Mu Ka Sa

Edit: also just came to me we can recycle the Youri chant

There’s a star man

he plays in blue and white

his name’s Divine Mukasa

Can't just latch songs onto players that won't be here in 3 months, that doesn't solve the songbook issue.

I thought you were an advocate for improving the atmosphere.

Someone suggests singing a song for a player who has given us a lift and you don't think it's worth it, even in the short term?

No I get that - but he’s going to be a huge part of the next few months and based on performances so far deserves a bit of recognition!

Well done to all who went last night. Could hear you easily on the t.v . Boro only seemed to come alive when they had a spell of possession.

it was decent considering how many of us were there, and to be fair to them, behind the goal they were quite lively

Yes but in my experience the capacity for new songs within our fanbase is maybe 4 or 5 a season.

In my opinion we need a new batch of club specific songs rather than player specific ones.

I'd generally go along with that.

I think player songs are fine - but what usually happens, is you end up with a few player songs.  Maybe 3 or 4 in the team have a song.   But all the others get left out, and tbh I'd feel a bit peeved if I was one without a song.   Even if I scored a brilliant goal, say.

Not that it really matters in the overall scheme of things - I just think club songs make more sense.   And there's no shortage of them.   Even the dead simple ones are fine.   We just need people to open their mouth and sing or shout.       I've said it before about away games - that even when it feels a fairly decent atmosphere, it always seems like 1/3 are carrying the other 2/3.

There needs to be a rousing atmosphere on Saturday for Rowett’s first home game in charge. The current configuration doesn’t maximise our home support but from now on in, it needs to be Everton/Leeds style to get the players over the line.

OK good luck with that.

Nothing to do with configuration. People have had every chance to move into somewhere that's literally called the singing section.

If ever the section needs to be in fine voice it’s Saturday.. let’s get this team over the line..

a lot of pressure on Union FS. they do need to deliver as i haven't heard from them a great deal, although not much to shout about.

let's hope everyone has swigged enough Madri and Chang pre match to lubricate their vocal chords. I know I will do

A lot of our vocal supporters are always going to want to be near the away fans. But there is also plenty of club focussed stuff in there too. The original post is fair in that if everyone was in the same place either singing section or P or L, then the atmosphere would be louder, just logically. That said, a lot of this comes down to effort, regardless of where people are. Those in P or L could say why can’t everyone come to us?

I have a sneaky suspicion that tomorrow will be quite good.

No matter people’s views on the ownership, I think most believe relegation to league one will be detrimental and that the players need our help to get out of the drop zone.

It’s not about the players, manager or owners at this point. It’s about the badge we all love. And that badge is in dire need of our support for the next 12 cup finals.

For 90 minutes, these lads need our backing. 💪

Absolutely, feels like the fans have turned in a good way from the Stoke game. I don’t remember being in an away end that was quite as supportive as that one. Even every tackle was cheered, was brilliant.

Hopefully the same tomorrow but it has to come from the players to start with.

no perhaps not but they set themselves up as this big ultra regime. i am in no way against Union FS but they need to walk the walk after they talk the talk

Without an millionth topic derailing into what UFS is and aint. The group has never used the word ultra, been really open with numbers and not given it the big one in an age.
