I haven't been to an away game for years but reading this site you get the sense there is no fun happening. Even in the Championship seasons pre-2014 when results were mixed you still had some humour and light - heartedness around the away following.

Some of the most enjoyable away days were in the 3rd Division.

What, after he set up a goal and scored one? That’s the spirit!

Yep. And without exception I would point out, they did not fit the category that many like to describe as being toxic

But there were some chants for the actual TEAM, you know, something like “ come on LEICESTER”. Shock!

Yeah but there weren't.

One of the worst LCFC away ends I’ve ever been in. The absolute life has been sucked out of this fanbase over the last few years.

There is not much life left in our fan base the a average age 103 🤣

Was at the match and their really wasn’t

Well perhaps TNT must have played some recorded chants of Come on Leicester in the background as that was what I heard.

One of those being the 4-0 win at Cheltenham of all places. Away end had some fun that day with the conga and having a great time with the Cheltenham fans.

Hearing these accounts of the lifelessness in the away end at that same place yesterday shows how we have fallen in terms of how fans can relate to the club now.

There was also  “Jeremy Monga” and “One of our own L P” several times too.

Not been to an away game since pre Covid and not regular since early 2010s. The atmospheres back then used to be decent most of the time. The fans were very together too. Sounds like it's gone downhill and can't see myself going away ever again, sadly, unless my lad twists my arm when he's older.

I hate to say this ... but I'm starting to wonder if (collectively as a fan base) we deserve the sh*t we get.

We've got 1000's of tickets holders who can't be bothered to turn up to the home games.

Apart from a few people actually trying to support the team, it seems that most of us are zombies.

The atmosphere turns toxic in about 5 minutes if we start badly

Half the crowd have gone home long before the end (even matches where there is only one goal in it)

We boo some of our own players before they've even kicked a ball, and boo someone who misses a penalty.

3/4 of our away support is a total waste of time.

We're literally fighting amongst ourselves, like some polarised/divided fan base.

And you can probably add some more to the above list.

All this - when we've got a fair few youngsters in the team, who could probably do with our support.

Don't get me wrong.   I think our owners and some of the Club officials are a waste of space.   As are many of our overpaid useless players.

But as fans, we're collectively not even doing the basics of trying to support and encourage our team.

It’s incredibly hard to get behind this bunch of players, this style. If Ayew had had a really good game and missed a penalty, he wouldn’t have been booed but he’s been honking for 2 years, all he did today way fall over and slow moves down. A lot of these players would do better with fans if they ran and gave done effort, they are the highest paid, lowest performing. I don’t mind backing someone who try’s hard who is a bit shit, but I can’t stand players that don’t give it all.

I’ll just use Jordan James as an example, if every player fought the way he does and has pride in wearing the shirt, then the crowd would get behind them. As it stands, for many of us, it’s the most disliked squad of players ever. Giving Ayew the No 9 just tops it.

People are bored of these players, this style of play, losing and having their club put down by utter mediocrities.

Get fresh people in and you will see intrigue and interest. These failures aren't going to change.

Not everyone is that bored given many of them continue to celebrate failure.

If Jordan Ayew looked like he gave a crap

and could tuck away a pen from

12 yards people may not boo. The bloke is stealing a living without a doubt

todays atmosphere was non existent even Charlton were fairly quiet until the last 7 minutes,

football is just rubbish nowadays

Our fan base is an enigma. I know the likes of Ayew and Thomas are sh!t but I do think they try. I can’t think of many fan bases in the country that boo their own players, especially a local lad coming onto the pitch. Can’t see many benefits from doing it either, just imagine what the other young lads think when they hear that. Only time I think I would understand it is if a player publicly disrespected the club. Which you could argue Winks has but there were thousands applauding and cheering him onto the pitch.

Meanwhile those responsible for our decline get off lightly. Maybe it’s just where I sit but didn’t hear a single chant against Rudkin or the board or King Power today. If people really wanted them out, consistent and loud vocal protest would be much more powerful than a few empty seats from those refusing to attend.

There are many things rotten about this club at the moment and unfortunately the fans are also a part of that.

What was there to support? Seeing game after game of mistakes, players not caring, pulling out of challenges, running down their contracts, massively underperforming, not attacking, passing sideways when we're losing, players at home rubbing it in on socials that they miss a former manager or they are enjoying a day out and not doing a job that they get paid more a week than we get paid a year, even double!...I can go on. (That is a long sentence, apologies)

This isn't something that's happening just this season or overnight. This is years of the same thing and that tis the reason for the atmosphere. I have now reached the point of not celebrating goals. We've scored 4 and I've not felt the passion to celebrate. I'm not alone. The fan base is drained of seeing the same old turd week in, week out and now we're all numb. Yes we're zombies but that is what the club has done to us.

I do get your point with the youngsters who do actually try, but the damage was done long before they started to play. They are just been thrusted into this position by no fault of their own.

It's like watching someone you love slowly bleed out having been stabbed yet a decent (though diminishing) percentage of people who claim to love the same person are applauding the person who did the stabbing.

You reap what you sow. I'd like to see the players give the fans something to get behind

Past the players or the management, people need to get this ingrained into there heads.

Spoke to a couple of people in the club during August, and the general feeling on the ground was how important it was to get five or six in through the door to effectively wake the club up a bit / making the atmosphere better on the day to day at Seagrave.
