If he was he would be at least on the bench. We have Monga and Nelson coming through from that age group.

Monga and Page look exceptional for their age tbf. Don't think it's a black mark against Alves that they outperformed him on this occasion.

 

Many of our senior players dont match up to the level of Monga and Page either.

Not sure about that. Page had a bit more support around him especially when Winks came on. Alves didn't really do anything well but also didn't do much badly. Had some good showings in pre season too. Should be way ahead of somebody like McAteer

I'm a huge believer in him but as a winger, not centrally. He's 3rd choice currently at LW but based on some of the dross McAteer serves up, I think he might be an option to bring on for Fatawu if Kasey doesn't buck his ideas up. Worst player on the pitch tonight.

Did well for a dreadful Cardiff team in this league though. He's got to at least be given a chance. Compare him to lads like Hamza and Kasey who are crap but got loads of opportunities. He's got way more talent so should be afforded the same.

Yes they do, at 16 and 17 they don't hide, they really get involved with so much confidence. 

 

Need to get plenty of minutes because they'll really develop.

Did enough at Cardiff last season that as an impact player out wide would be of use to us.

He’s so lightweight for a start I’d love for him to be a class but he’s not, take off ya blue tinted glasses and admit it! The lads not good enough you cannot tell me or show me that he is ? He had a few decent games for a relegated Cardiff side and you think that’s acceptable? Even the Cardiff fans slagged him off mate.

Do I think him having a few decent games in his first proper bit of senior football playing in a shite Cardiff side where the fans were slagging off the entire team is acceptable?

What opportunities has Alves had for us? Don't think he has had many.
