Great scenes at the once world famous sh!tty ground....

So its great seeing Florist fold once again under "Big Ange the so called saviour of Notts Forest FC"

But I am confused by a fan base perspective.

Pre-Ange they were all saying Nuno is the way, etc etc

As soon as Jabba changes his mind and now its all  "Nuno out" they all jump on aboard and support the "Big Ange" rhetorical .Even thought Nuno is one of the best managers they have had in the past 3 years

Now big Ange is going tits up they are still in denial.  in denial of what exactly ? in denial that yet again Jabba has made a mistake ?  Surely not, not their precious owner who in their eyes cannot do anything wrong....

They need to wake up and smell the gyros as Marinakis doesn't care about anyone else but himself and he has made a huge mistake here, but as per normal Forest fans that's not Marinakis fault... well who's is it ?

Bunch of jokers............

Didn’t they get a penalty?

The opposition too physical and aggressive?

I thought that is how Forest played under Nuno .

Tough and in your face not giving an inch .

Dunno about this.  I’d say 90pc were against sacking Nuno and 99.5pc against appointing Ange.  Albeit you’re right people said ‘let’s get behind him’ once he was appointed.

But you’re right.  It’s Marinakis’ fault and it’s a catastrophic, incomprehensible misjudgment by him. Fans were singing Nuno’s name and gesticulating at EM at the ground on Thursday, asking him WTF he’s done.

My missus's side of the family are devote Forest fans expecially the father-in-law who just goes on and on about the cloughie years, even his sons do too...

But Marinakis made a HUGE mistake sacking Nuno and getting in Ange, and his arrogance and big headedness wil be the downfall for your club unfortunately.... I understand he is "passionate" but hes dropped a real boob here that could cost you a chance of a Eurpean cup and your PL status...

Kier Starmer has said  Israeli away fans shouldn’t be banned from the match at Villa Park .

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c205gnz5p8xo

It isn’t a police decision as such but they agree with the ban given by the local council .

The local MP doesnt agree with the PM and actually celebrates the banning of fans of the Israel club.

No room for racism. Kick it out.

Apparently Maccabi Tel Aviv fans caused trouble in Europe last season so maybe that is where the fear of protests arising have come from but it is fair to punish them now a year later ?

They didn’t, they were attacked.

There are videos of them chanting some horrendously racist things in Hebrew and removing Palestinian flags. However, there is not a chance the chants caused the violence given the fact no one speaks Hebrew outside of Israel.

There was a premeditated attack on them in Amsterdam, the police clearly think risk of that exists in Birmingham. And they do not want to protect fans from that risk

Storm in a tea cup

Away fans being banned for European games due to a threat of violence is as common as anything. PSV are banned for Paris and Frankfurt are banned for Napoli in the coming weeks

In a sport where common sense is often ignored, common sense has prevailed.

Add Maccabi's strong hooligan presence to a city with  a high, understandably, angry Muslim population & you have a tinderbox waiting to be ignited.

As has already been mentioned, not the first time away fans are banned & not the last.

The hooligan justification feels bit convenient, plenty worse happens and fans aren't banned. The authorities understandably don't want the footage of Maccabi getting ran around Birmingham like they did in Amsterdam from the local muslim population.

They're not banned becasue they're Israeli ffs. They're banned becasue they have a long, documented history of public order offences.

And lots of other fans have done the same and aren't banned. Maccabi Tel Aviv fans haven't done what Frankfurt have.

There was no hand wringing about PSG, or Juve turning up from local politicians.

I'm not a fan but it's just convenient how local muslim politicians are bothered by unruly football fans now and they just happen to be jewish.

120 Juve fans were arrested in Amsterdam of all places, not a peep when they were playing Villa away

There's a line between "unruly" and "openly racist".

Targets of the violence included an Arab taxi driver,[5] Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv fans,[6] and pro-Palestinian protesters.[2]

With the level of tension that was around at the time, some people ended up hurt but IMO that is to be expected when either side taunts the other. I'd expect a whack on the nose if I ran past Old Trafford with a Liverpool flag shouting You'll Never Walk Alone, let alone if I ran past a group of Israeli's with a Palestinian flag or if I ran past a group of Palestinian protesters with an Israeli flag.

The whole stuff about a "Jew hunt" is disgusting. It's clear that Tel Aviv fans were targeted for their religion and also that the Police did a horrendous job of managing the situation. It's clear that there were organised efforts to attack Tel Aviv fans on mass.

Juve fans racially abused their own player relatively recently.

The ban is in place because the police know they won't have handle on it (sort themselves out btw they normally like hay handed football policing), the safety committee will be spurred on by local politicians grievances masquerading as a safety issue.

For balance's sake - a large proportion of Maccabi fans were looking for it, they knew what they were getting in for.
