Any manager with an ounce of football knowledge would get a tune out of our current squad. We are not even doing the basics, and that is 100% on the manager. I’d say having no money to spend and having a squad of which half probably doesn’t want to be here isn’t the best set of cards to be dealt. Probably why we could only bring in a Cifuentes calibre manager in the first place. But agree, the basics aren’t being met. The running stats alone speak volumes. We are outfought and outrun every week, and that is simply unacceptable 4

I will also add, however, that he doesn’t seem to be the motivating manager that is needed when dealt with a bob hand. 3

Dmitry Posted 25 January Posted 25 January The only reasonable and immediate solution that should be implemented by the Chairman, is to sack Rudkin (just get him the **** out of there, make him your Eunuch in Charge of the Geldings, or whatever you want), hire a real DoF; he will sort out the manager, players, contracts, etc. 2
Wink84 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Tops update is we have a new batch of teddys to give out at the next home game 1

To over coach and eh and outthink teams, we need someone to focus and motivate the players and give them clear and simple instructions. In the dream scenario that Pearson was available, healthy and willing enough then he'd need to be technical director. That role would need a mandate to hire and fire non-playing staff, restructure the scouting, medical and training structure, and have a right of veto/equal vote when it comes to the philosphy, playing style and direction of the club from a footballing and technical perspective. He might be tempted with Seagrave to play with and weekends off, 4 days a week and plenty of golf. The manager would then be the person charged with executing the vision on the pitch. Sadly I think it's nothing more than a dream. Edited 25 January by Bourbon Fox 2
daddylonglegs Posted 25 January Posted 25 January As one or two have eluded to, I am all aboard the Russell Martin train. If you’re going to make me hate the club I support, at least let me have a laugh along the way.
Clever Fox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January About time, why I'ts taken this long shows how poorly we are at the minute.

He hasn't done that. A better manager should be able to squeeze more out of this squad. Well, we can only hope.
lozzyblue fox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Looks like Wikipedia was right this morning, all you doubters. 1

Number 6 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Spent the same amount as Weds but started with vastly different squads. Don't play down how bad Marti has been JP.
Suzie the Fox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Gone omg was not expecting that (although was hoping)
